Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a high grade of printing by selecting the resistance value of a heating resistor provided corresponding to a plurality of orifices discharging liquid drops so as to keep the volume of the liquid drop discharged constant regardless of the position of the orifice. CONSTITUTION:A number of heating resistors 2-1-2-n are arranged on a substrate 1 through an insulation layer 9 and a grooved plates 4 with slot-like patterns 3-1-3-n serving as discharge orifice is provided monolithically thereon to construct a nozzle head. The heating resistor 2-i is fed with a pulse flow to generate heat by which bubbles are generated in an ink passage and ink drops are discharged at the tip of a nozzle 14-i. In an ink head of such a type, the resistance value of the 2-i is adjusted so as to keep the volume of ink drops discharged constant regardless of the position of the nozzle. For example, when the head is used vertically, the lower resistance value is increased gradually.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a subject device which uniformalizes the size of a recording dot and improves a picture quality, by a method wherein an area of a discharge energy generating means at an energy operating part is changed so that recording dots are uniformalized. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a discharge orifice, being of a multiorifice structure, is erected perpendicularly, and an area of a heating resistor 11-i at a lower part of a head is set to a smaller one than that at the upper part of the head so as to uniformalize dots recorded in a manner to scan the discharge orifice surface in a horizontal direction and feed a recording paper in a perpendicular direction. This causes a difference in the size of the recording to be brought to an extent that it can be almost disregarded, which results in obtaining an improved recording.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To transmit only a necessary part of an original by inhibiting scanning line information which need not be sent from being inputted as sent information at the time of original scanning according to the specification of the scanning line information which need not be sent. CONSTITUTION:An operation key 5 is provided to the console panel, etc., of the device so as to specify the unnecessary part of the original in scanning line units at the time of the original scanning. An operator operates the operation keys at the time of the original scanning to inhibit the unnecessary part of the original from being sent. Namely, an editing function for a sent image can be added and after the sent original is edited, only necessary information is transferred to an opposite side. Thus, the recording paper or receiving memory 2 of the opposite station is not wasted for the part which need not be sent unlike before. Further, the large-capacity memory 2 is not required for the image editing and hardware addition of about one switch is only required, so the manufacture cost of the equipment is reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To vary the transmittivity of an optical switch by giving a DC bias to an AC voltage applied to a liquid crystal cell, and controlling the DC bias. CONSTITUTION:A scanning electrode 4 is used as a common electrode, an AC voltage is applied uniformly between an auxiliary electrode 2 and the scanning electrode 4 by an AC voltage power source 9, and a DC voltage is applied through a resistance R10 to an arbitrary one in an electrode group being a signal electrode 5 which is brought to wiring in a stripe shape, and is formed by an ITO film. In order that an AC bias electric field is applied effectively, it is desirable that 100kOMEGA-10MOMEGA is connected as R, and when only the AC voltage is applied, a liquid crystal cell becomes turbid in white, and the transmittivity becomes minimum. In this state, when a prescribed DC bias is given to an intersection part of the selected scanning electrode 4 and the signal electrode 5, the transparency of its intersection part increases, and the transmittivity increases. In such a way, by bringing the DC bias to a variable control by a variable DC power source 8, the transmittivity of an optical switch can be changed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject unit capable of recording at high speed with super-high precision and in a miniaturized form by installing the first substrate with a plurality of electronic beam sources, the second substrate and an electrode, sealing a clearance between the first and second substrates almost in a vacuum state, and making the degree of thermal transmission in a thickness direction of the second substrate higher than that in a planar direction. CONSTITUTION:The second substrate 25 is a member with an anisotropy of thermal transmission in which the coefficient of thermal transmission in a normal direction is higher than that in a tangential direction by making the second substrate a hybrid structure. In order to accelerate the movement of electrons to a desired level of energy, the space between the first substrate 11 and the second substrate 25 needs to be in a vacuum condition. Normally, the substrates 11, 25 are sealed airtight so that pressures may be set constantly to about 10 -10 Torr. Next voltages which cause an avalanche amplification action to generate in the p-n coupled part are applied to electrodes 12, 13, 14.... At the same time, voltages of some magnitude are applied to a drawing electrode 21, thus permitting electrons to flow out of electron beam sources 22, 23 and 24.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize highly fine image display with a small size and small thickness by subjecting an electrophoretic image display element provided with an electric charge receptor to writing by scanning of an ion source and forming an electric field between the charge receptor and a transparent electrode. CONSTITUTION:A negative ion beam is projected over the entire surface of the electric charge receptor 23 by an ion generator 1 and the electric charge 27 is generated in the surface of the receptor 23 as well. White TiO2 particles migrate to the receptor 23 side when the voltage impressed to an electrophoretic liquid suspension 25 layer by said electric field increases to the voltage larger than the threshold voltage at which pigment particles 26 in the liquid start migrating. Said particles are then fixed to the surface of the receptor and a 1st stable state is generated. A positive ion beam is then projected imagewise to the receptor 23 by the generator 1. The positive charge is imparted imagewise to the receptor 23 by such projection and the electric field in the direction different from the previous electric field direction is generated in said part. The white TiO2 particles migrate to the transparent electrode 22 side and stick imagewise on the surface thereof when the voltage exceeds the threshold. The 2nd stable state is thus obtd.
