Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable efficient control with the less amount of a protocol control means by limiting an interface part to only the function of layer 1 and controlling protocols higher than a layer 2 by the protocol control means. CONSTITUTION:By the information obtained from an ISDN control part 9, a main control part 7 sends an ISDN signal through the control part 9 to internal-interface parts 13 and 14, and performs the entire exchange control of a time division exchange switch 18 or the like for line connection. The interface parts 13 and 14 are only provided with a signal generation detecting function for data link and a separating/multiplexing function of an information channel and a control channel, and the processing functions of layers 2 and 3 are omitted. Thus, the interfaces 13 and 14 can be considerably simplified, and the complicated and expensive part can be held as the internal resources of a private branch exchange.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To conduct a data communication test in a short time without using a specified measuring unit by previously storing a test program in a communication equipment mainbody and displaying a test item and a test result in an external terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Respective kinds of programs such as the control programs of respective circuits and the processing programs of communication data, which a microcomputer being the constitution element of a control circuit 11 executes, are stored in a ROM13 and data required while the above programs are executed are stored in a RAM14. If a power is supplied with the specified button of an operation part 15, an on-hook dial button, for example, being depressed as it is, a test function program stored in the ROM13 starts. The control circuit 11 of a communication equipment transmits data on the test item, which the test function executes, to the external terminal equipment 23 through an external equipment interface 21.

In case of a speaker 'ON' command, the speaker 'ON' is commanded to an NCU (network controller) 6, the state of the line 21, that is, the signal superimposed on the line 21 is outputted from the speaker 7 as it is. In case of a speaker 'OFF' command, the NCU 6 is commanded and the output of the state of the line 21 from the speaker 7 is stopped.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the impossibility of communication due to misoperation by switching the mode to the signal mode automatically for a dial pulse line. CONSTITUTION:A dial pulse generating means, a dial tone generating means 3, and a means 4 which detects polarity inversion of a line are provided; and when a call is originated, a dial pulse is generated by the dial pulse generating means to call the other party station, and the dial tone generating means 3 is connected to the line after the polarity inversion of the line corresponding to line connection is detected by the detecting means 4. The call is originated by the dial tone generating means 3, and the dial mode is switched automatically in accordance with the inversion of the line polarity after the line is established. Thus, it is unnecessary that a user performs the troublesome dial mode switching operation where he is liable to perform misoperation.
