    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance developing efficiency and to increase image density by using carrier particles coated with a vinyl resin of 1-100 hydroxyl value contg. a hydroxyl group and fluoroplastic. CONSTITUTION:The carrier core material is a copolymer consisting of a styrene monomer, vinyl monomer such as acrylate or methacrylate, and a vinyl monomer contg. the hydroxyl group as constituting units and is coated with the resins having 1-100 hydroxyl value and the fluoroplastic. Since the fluoroplastic is exposed on the carrier coating surface in case of coating the carrier core material by using the mixture composed of the vinyl resin contg. the hydroxyl group and the fluoroplastic, the positive triboelectrostatic charge impartation power to the toner is high and the rise of the electrostatic charge is fast. The toner concn. is thus increased. The uniform and sufficient electrostatic charge of the toner is, therefore, possible even if the contact probability of the toner and the carrier decreases. The developing efficiency is extremely enhanced and the image density is increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfactory image quality by applying an AC voltage having a specific frequency to a developer part to transfer toner particles of the toner particle layer on a developer carrying member and those held on surfaces of magnetic particles to an electrostatic latent image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The volume of magnetic particles 7 in a developing part where toner particles 8 are supplied to an electrostatic latent image carrier 1 is set to 1.5-30% of the capacity of the space image-formed with the electrostatic latent image carrier 1 and a developer carrying member 3 in the developing part. The frequency of the electric field of the AC component is set to 1,000-3,000Hz, and the peak-to-peak voltage is so set that an electrostatic latent image is not broken and magnetic particles 7 are moved between the developer carrying member 3 and the electrostatic latent image in a developing area B, and this voltage is applied to the developer part to transfer toner particles 8 of the toner particle layer on the developer carrying member 3 and toner particles 8 held on surfaces of magnetic particles 7 to the electrostatic latent image carrier 1. Thus, the development efficiency is improved and a satisfactory developed image is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image having such high performance that the requirement of increased image quality is satisfied, by using carbon black so treated that it is made hydrophobic and untreated carbon black. CONSTITUTION:Carbon black is composed of carbon black so treated that it is made hydrophobic and untreated carbon black. The hydrophobic carbon black disperses well in toner particles and provides satisfactory blackness to the toner. The untreated carbon black is present on or near the surface of the toner in a moderately mixed state, so the toner is moderately balanced between electrostatic chargeability and insulating property. The extent of triboelectric charge of the toner for developing an electrostatic charge image is well controlled and the toner can give a clear, deep-black copied image of high quality in any environment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the float of an original document on a realing line by bringing an original feed guide into line-contact with a platen roller in the vicinity of the reading line with respect to an original feed direction, and integrating the line-contacted part with the original feed guide. CONSTITUTION:The original feed guide 30 is formed to a waveform by an integrated material and has the first contact line 31A and the second contact line 31B smoothly protruded downward at two positions. When an original document 6 is inserted in a direction shown by an arrow. it is held between the roller 4 and the original feed guide 30 at the position of the first contact line 31A with the counterclock rotation of the platen roller 4, and a carrying force is provided. Thereafter, the original document 6 passing the reading line 7 is held therebetween at the position of the second contact line 31B again, then, the original document is fed continuously with the carrying force corresponding to the previously provided carrying force. In such a way, since the original document is maintained in a state brought into contact with the platen roller 4 in the vicinity of the reading line 7, the tramp of the original document at the reading position is eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a uniform thin layer on the surface of a sleeve while triboelectrifying toner sufficiently by obtaining magnetic particles by mixing >=2 kinds of magnetic particle with which a rectangular prism having side lengths (a), (b), and (c) at specific ratios is circumscribed. CONSTITUTION:When a rectangular prism circumscribed with one magnetic particle 5 is assumed, particles having sides (a), (b), and (c) at ratios b/a and c/a of 0.8-1.0 and particles whose ratios b/a and c/a are 0.1-1.0 and 0.05-0.5 respectively are mixed by specific amounts and stored in a container 3 together with the toner 4. Magnetic particles 5 are prevented from flowing out of a sleeve 2 by the rotation of a nonmagnetic sleeve 2 and a magnetic blade 6 and the magnet 7 in a sleeve 2 facing the blade, and the toner 4 is put in cyclic motion as shown by an arrow (c) and triboelectrified while mixed with the magnetic particles 5. Therefore, the electrostatically charged toner 4 is applied thinly and uniformly over the surface of the sleeve 2 and no developer leaks out of a developing device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and to improve the operability by providing an upper casing provided with a driving system function section with a distance to a lower casing provided with an electric system function section for a picture storage device to provide the tray of the upper casing nearly orthogonal to the sheet moving direction. CONSTITUTION:The picture forming device such as a facsimile copying machine or the like is constituted of the lower casing 51 provided with the electric system function section of a picture storage device and the upper casing 50 provided with the driving system function section. The casing 50 is parted upward from the casing 51 at a fulcrum 53 of a support base 52. Further, the tray (sheet storage tray) of the casing 50 is provided in the vicinity of the lower discharge part of the storage sheet and an opening section is opened in the direction nearly orthogonal to the moving direction of the sheet. Further, a bottom part formed by the 1st guide member and the 2nd guide member is formed to the tray to miniaturize the device and to improve the operability.
