Abstract: PURPOSE:To continuously carry out communication without break by automatically securing another B-channel and switching ports in a communication controller connected to an ISDN when the fault of a B-channel is detected while the faulty B-channel is used for communication in the communication controller. The RAM 5 is used as the work area of the CPU 2 and temporarily stores various kinds of data. The line interface section 6 is connected with an ISDN 8 through a line 9 and makes call control. The communication continuing means secures another B-channel to continue communication through the secured B-channel when a fault occurs in the currently used B-channel.
