This process makes it possible to dye textile material, in particular ready-made jeans garments, with pigment dyes by an exhaust method.

The presence of the compounds of the formula I makes it possible to prepare stable and homogeneous aqueous formulations even of those surfactants which are otherwise only sparingly soluble or even insoluble in water.
