Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for managing packet data units (PDUs) received by a Node B from a radio network controller (RNC) and stored in a buffer of the Node B while awaiting transmission to a user equipment (UE). A purge triggering event with respect to PDUs associated with the UE is detected at the RNC and the RNC transmits a purge message to the Node B requesting a purge of at least a portion of the PDUs associated with the UE from the Node B's buffer. The requested PDUs are then deleted from the Node B's buffer.

Abstract: Un método para el procesamiento de una comunicación recibida que incluye transmisiones periódicas de un grupo de segmentos de información. Una primera transmisión del grupo de segmentos de información es recibida y procesada para identificar cada uno de los segmentos como válido o inválido. Abstract: A method and system for the UE and RNC to reduce transmission latency and potentially prevent loss of PDUs upon a MAC-hs layer reset. The RNC generates a radio resource control (RRC) message with a MAC-hs reset indication. The MAC reset indication requires the UE to flush buffers for configured HARQ processes, disassemble MAC protocol data units (PDUs) in the reordering buffers, deliver MAC-d PDUs to a MAC-d layer, and configure the MAC-hs to receive new data.

Abstract: A system and method for avoiding stall of an H-ARQ reordering buffer in a receiver uses a Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) policy for loading the transmitting H-ARQ processors. Abstract: A system and method which improve the performance of a wireless transmission system by intelligent use of the control of the flow of data between a radio network controller (RNC) (12) and a Node B (54). The system monitors certain criteria and, if necessary, adaptively increases or decreases the data flow between the RNC (12) and the Node B (54). This improves the performance of t he transmission system by allowing retransmitted data, signaling procedures and other data to be successfully received at a faster rate, by minimizing the amount of data buffered in the Node B (54). Flow control is exerted to reduc e buffering in the Node B (54) upon degradation of channel qualities, and prio r to a High Speed Downlink Shared Channel (HS-DSCH) handover.
