Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the malodor emission from a powdered detergent contg. a surfactant, such as a salt of an alpha-olefinsulfonic acid, which emits malodor when decomposed, by adding to the detergent a zeolite, a compd. having inclusion capability and a monoterpene alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A powdered detergent contg. a surfactant, such as a salt of an alpha-olefinsulfonic acid, an alpha-sulfofatty acid ester or an alkylamine oxide (e.g., lauryldimethylamine oxide), is produced. The detergent is mixed with 15-30wt.% zeolite (e.g., type A zeolite), 0.1-5wt.% compd. having inclusion capability (e.g., beta-cyclodextrin) and 0.05-0.5wt.% monoterpene alcohol or deriv. thereof (e.g., linalool or geraniol) in combination to suppress the malodor emitted from such a surfactant when decomposed. Thus, a powdered detergent compsn. is produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress peculiar odor emitted from an enzyme and improve the enzyme resistance to the chlorine present in city water, by adding a particular amt. of each of a sulfite and a compd. having inclusion capability to an enzyme- contg. powdered detergent. CONSTITUTION:A powdered detergent having improved detergency is produced by incorporating a protease, a cellulase, a lipase, etc. 0.1-5wt.% sulfite (e.g., sodium sulfite) and 0.1-5wt.% compd. having inclusion capability are added to the detergent to suppress enzyme odor. Representative examples of the compds. having inclusion capability include beta-cyclodextrin, methylated beta- cyclodextrin, alpha-cyclodextrin and gamma-cyclodextrin. Thus it is possible to mask enzyme odor without the necessity of increasing the amt. of a perfume or using a special perfume.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an odor sustaining effect and ensure a sufficient masking effect irrespective of repeated washings, by pulverizing a perfume by means of an inclusion compd. to form a granular product and adding the granular product to a powdery detergent. CONSTITUTION:A perfume, such as limonene, is included by means of an inclu sion compd. (molar ratio: 0.8-1.2), such as beta-cyclodextrin, and dried to obtain an included perfume powder. 20-80pts. powder is mixed with 5-35pts. binder, 15-50pts. filler and 0-5pts. powder property improver to obtain a granular product having an average grain size of 100-1,000mu, pref. 300-1,000mu. In this case, the grain size distribution of the granular product is adjusted to be such that particle sizes of less than 100mu and at least 1,000mu account for 5wt.% or less. 0.1-5wt.% granular product of the included perfume powder, 10-60wt.% surfactant and 30-80wt.% detergent builder are mixed together to obtain a powdery detergent compsn.
