    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide solid detergents having satisfactory mechanical strength in a dry state and shows high speed dissolution when introduced into water. SOLUTION: A solid detergent comprises (1) a group of detergent particles which release foams having a diameter of not smaller than 1/10 of the diameter of the particles from their inside when dissolved in water and have not less than 90% solubility ratio of the formula: solubility ratio (%)=[1-(T/S)]×100 (wherein S is a weight (g) of the group of particles; and T is a dry weight (g) of the particles of the aqueous solution remaining on the sieve obtained under the conditions shown below) when the particles are introduced into water of 5 deg.C and stirred under the conditions [i.e., the particles in an amount of 1 g are introduced into 1 L hard water (containing 71.2 mg CaCO3/L with a molar ratio of Ca to Mg of 7/3), and the resulting solution is stirred in a 1 L beaker (having an inner diameter of 105 mm) with a stirrer (having a length of 35 mm and a width of 8 mm) at 800 rmp] for 60 sec and then, put through a standard sieve (having an opening of 74 μm) of JIS Z 8801. Also, the solid detergent comprises (2) a group of base granules containing a water insoluble inorganic substance, a water soluble polymer and salts for supporting a surface active agent and/or a group of particles which is a group of the base granules supporting a surface active agent thereon, and the base granules having a structure in which the water soluble polymer and/or the salts are more locally distributed in the neighborhood of the surface than in the inner part, and contains the same group of particles as (1).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base granule cluster having high oil-absorbing power and giving undissolved residues of a detergent on clothing only in an extremely small amount, and to provide a high bulk density detergent particle cluster formed by supporting a surfactant on a carrier of the base granule cluster. SOLUTION: This base granule cluster comprises a cluster of the base granules containing a water-insoluble inorganic compound, a water-soluble polymer and a water-soluble salt, and further containing a surfactant in an amount of 0-10 wt.%, and has a bulk density of 400-1000 g/L, wherein at least a part of the water-insoluble inorganic compound comprises an amorphous aluminosilicate salt having a volume of 0-0.1 ml/g when measured with a mercury porosimeter and corresponding to a pore diameter of 0.015-0.5 μm, and a volume of >=0.30 ml/g corresponding to a pore diameter of 0.5-2 μm. The high bulk density detergent particle cluster comprises a cluster of high bulk density particles which are formed by supporting a surfactant composition on a carrier of the base granule cluster, wherein the surfactant composition contains a nonionic surfactant having a melting point of =20 wt.%, and is used in an amount of 10-100 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the base granule cluster for supporting the surfactant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a granule which not only has a high bulk density and excellent powder flow characteristics and non-blocking properties, but also good storage stability for a long period of time, by compounding at nonionic surfactant, an acid precursor of an anionic surfactant with a crystalline alkali metal silicate. SOLUTION: (1) A mixture is prepared which comprises (a) 25wt.% or more of a crystalline alkali metal silicate which has a SiO2 /M2 O mole ratio of 1.5 to 2.6 wherein M is an alkali metal, a maximum pH of a 0.10wt.% disperse liquid (20 deg.C) of 11.0 or more, and an ion exchange capacity of 100CaCO3 mg/g or more, (b) a nonionic surfactant, (c) an acid precursor of an anionic surfactant capable of having a lamella orientation in an amount of 25 to 100wt.% relative to component b, (d) a water-soluble non-ionic organic compound having a melting point of 45 deg.C or higher and an average molecular weight of 1,000 or more in an amount of 2 to 30wt.% relative to component b, wherein the total amount of a, b, c and d is 50 to 100wt.% and (a+b+c)/a is 0.1 to 2.0. (2) The mixture above-prepared is granulated at a temperature at which the acid precursor C can be neutralized, thereby to obtain a crystalline granule having a bulk density of 0.6 to 1.2g/ml.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bottle-contained granular detergent which is prepared by filling a shake out type bottle container with a granular detergent containing surfactant and crystalline silicate salt in a specific proportion, respectively and can be used, as the amount is metered, because it can be readily shaken out of the bottle, even in the case that the detergent is blocked in the bottle by the vibration during the transportation. SOLUTION: A bottle container having its shake-out outlet and the wall following the outlet and covering the space for filling with the detergent is filled with a granular detergent containing (A) 10-50wt.% of a surfactant and (B) 3-50wt.% of crystalline silicate salt and having a bulk density of >=0.6g/cm and an average particle sizes of 250-1,000μm. This container is preferably made of a high-molecular-weight polymer and preferably has a part at which the surrounding wall is less than 1mm thick and can disintegrate the granular detergent blocked tentatively in the container by close packing by holding the side wall with a hand.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a container-packed granular detergent which is formed by packing a high-bulk-density granular detergent in a container with a built-in meter for metering the detergent, can be shaken out in a stabilized amount and therefore can be metered accurately by adapting the meter so that it may have specified properties. SOLUTION: The meter is desirably made of a metal or a plastic containing an antistatic agent to make it antistatic. It is further desirable that the meter is made of a plastic containing an antistatic agent and has surface resistivity 1×10 Ωor below as measure according to the method described in ASTM D257. The antistatic agent desirably comprises a poly(oxyethylene) alkylamine compound and/or a glycerol fatty acid ester compound. The greater part of the meter is desirably made of a plastic (e.g. PE) having a glass transition temperature of 25 deg.C or below.
