Abstract: PURPOSE:To make packaging with a favorable finish possible by a method wherein when packaging work is performed by folding respective side ends of a packaging sheet by wrapping tools one after another on an object to be packaged, the object to be packaged is pressed from the top by a pressing device. CONSTITUTION:By placing an adhesive tape 14 on one end of a let out packaging sheet 1, and pressing the other end by a pressing tool 30, an object to be packaged C is placed, and then the packaging sheet 1 is folded in order by wrapping tools 7, 8, 9, 10, and the adhesive tape 14 is placed at the very end. At this time, outside of the wrapping tool 8 which operates secondarily, a pressing device 31 which presses the object to be packaged C from the top of the packaging sheet 1, accompanying a sheet covering motion, is arranged. For this pressing device 31, on a supporting frame 32 which is stood from a working table 5, a lateral moving member 33 which is slide-movable in the approaching/ separating direction to the object to be packaged C is placed, and at the same time, a fork shaped pressing actuating part 35 is attached to a vertically moving member 34 which is vertically movably supported by this lateral moving member 33.

At this time, a roller 27 of the second wrapping tool 8 enters under the first wrapping tool 7. Then, after a first set time T1 has passed, the first wrapping tool 7 starts retracting, and at the same time, the second wrapping tool 8 stops once, and in addition, after a second set time T2 has passed, the second wrapping tool 8 protrude-operates again. Thus, sheet folding action can be effectively performed.

A cam plate 32 in which an elongated cam hole 32a is formed is provided, and a guide roller 33 which moves while being engaged with the cam hole 32a is axially supported at the rear end of a roller supporting arm 35, and it is constituted in such a manner that the packaging roller 28 is made to move along a designated locus. At one side end 5d of a packaging sheet 5, an adhesive tape 34 is attached as a bonding fixing measure, and when the one side end 5d is folded and lapped at a designated position, the packaging roller 28 moves on the adhesive tape 34, and one side ends 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d which are lapped in four layers are mutually bonded.
