Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve control stability, energy savingness and reliability, by a method wherein a pressure detector is located in a piping (in an outdoor machine) running between an indoor machine and a 4-way valve, and based on a combination step of the frequency and the number of poles of an inverter, both being predetermined according to a detecting pressure, a capacity combination step is decided. CONSTITUTION:A pressure detector is located in a piping (in an outdoor machine) running between an indoor machine and a 4-way valve, and an operation capacity deciding means is provided for deciding a capacity combination step based on a combination step of the frequency and the number of poles of an inverted, both being predetermined according to a detecting pressure therefrom. A capacity combination step wherein a differential is produced between capacities before and after the starting and the stop of a pole varying type compressor or change of the number of poles when capacity is increased and capacity is decreased is provided. A differential is produced between total capacities of two compressors during the starting and the stop of the pole varying type compressor and change of the number of poles. This constitution causes control of capacity to always improve controllability according to an air conditioning load and a present operation state at a relatively low given interval and without frequent change of the number of poles.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the vibration of a motor by switching a frequency among phases at the position of 0 degree of the phase of the output voltage of a main circuit transistor at the time of altering the frequency of the motor by a controller. CONSTITUTION:A transistor inverter is composed of a rectifying and smoothing circuit 1, a main circuit transistor group 2, a power source circuit 5, a frequency setter 6, a controller 7, a base driver 8, and further a phase detector 10. The controller 7 has a control circuit, a waveform switching unit and a ROM. The controller 7 controls the switching timing of the output frequency by a timing signal from the detector 10, and the output frequency is switched at the position of zero degree of the phase among the phases. As a result, the vibration or the like of a motor 4 can be suppressed to a minimum limit, and the frequency can be smoothly switched while suppressing the output current to a minimum.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate error in setting of a setting switch and other errors and make it possible to drive an electrically driven compressor with exact operation frequency by transmitting to an outdoor machine not only the state of ON/OFF of an indoor machine and the load to an air conditioner but also information about the capability of the indoor machine that is beforehand stored in a memory. CONSTITUTION:After judging whether or not a remote controller is ON by taking in the ON/OFF switch signal of an indoor machine, a set temperature A and indoor temperature B are taken in to calculate the temperature C=A-B. Next the horse power figure E' of the indoor machine is taken in, and signals of a remote controlled ON/OFF switch, temperature difference C, horse power figure E' of the indoor machine are sent to an outdoor machine 11'. Next, a rated frequency figure D per unit horse power is taken in and the product of D and E' is calculated to seek the operation frequency F at a standard temperature difference. The product of the temperature difference C and the F value is calculated to seek the operation frequency G of the indoor machine 1. After the same procedure is taken to seek the operation frequencies H and l of indoor machines 2 and 3, the operation frequency for all indoor machines, J=G+H+I is sought, and this is given to an inverter device 12. Thus, the inverter device 12 changes the speed of an electrically driven compressor to control its capability.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent surge voltage, by providing a main circuit detection circuit and a reverse bias conversion circuit to apply reverse bias, etc., to a main circuit transistor when this transistor is turned OFF. CONSTITUTION:A drive circuit of a transistor inverter is composed of the second and third transistors 18 and 20 and a base drive signal circuit 24, while a main circuit current detection circuit 26 and a reverse bias conversion circuit 27 are provided. this reverse bias conversion circuit 27 controls the reverse bias amount between the base and emitter of a main circuit transistor 3 in turning OFF at the signal of the abovementioned current detection circuit 26. A capacitor 23 is provided, etc. side by side. Thus, the increase of turn-OFF time due to the shortage of reversebias amount can be suppressed and the occurrence of surge voltage caused by excess reverse bias amount prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a conversion efficiency, by a method wherein a resistance conversion circuit is installed to vary the value of base current controlling resistor according to a signal from a circuit detecting a main circuit current. CONSTITUTION:A base drive circuit of a transistor inverter to drive and control a main circuit transistor 3 is composed of second and third transistors 18, 20, a third resistor 24, a base drive signal circuit 25, a main circuit current detector 26, and a base current controlling resistance converter 27. The base current controlling resistance converter 27 is composed of a transistor and first-second base current controlling resistors. In this constitution, according to signal from the main circuit current detector 6, the base current controlling resistance converter 27 varies the resistance value and increases base current and enlarges the saturation region of the main circuit transistor 3. Voltage increase between collector and emitter is suppressed, thereby heat generation of the main circuit transistor 3 is suppressed.

SOLUTION: In the case 5 of this apparatus, a power controller 3 and a relay terminal board 4 are housed, and the power controller 3 is directly connected to a compressor terminal board 2 through the board 4. If it is a plug-type one, it is composed of a plug which connects the board 4 to the compressor terminal board 2, a connector provided on the power controller 3, and a soft cable. Consequently, influence of the heat of the compressor at a high temperature on the power controller is removed.
