Se determina un tamano de entrelazador K' que está relacionado con Kö, en donde Kö es de un conjunto de tamanos; en donde el conjunto de tamanos comprende Kö = ap x f, pmin 1, pmáx > pmin, pmin>1. El bloque de informacion de tamano K es arrastrado hacia un bloque de entrada de tamano K' usando bits de relleno, si se requiere. La codificacion se realiza usando el bloque de entrada original y el bloque de entrada entrelazado para obtener un bloque de codigo usando un turbo codificador. El bloque de codigo es transmitido a través del canal.

As such, the initial data rate may be modified to the final data rate while maximizing the down link capacity.

Abstract: A base station (101) will request the transmission of quality information fr om a particular remote stations (102, 103) only when data is queued to be transmitted to the remote stations. Once a remote station begins the transmission of channel quality information, the transmission of such information continues until the data transmission is successfully delivered to the remote station. The base station receives the channel quality informatio n and adjusts the modulation and coding of the remote stations accordingly. Where data is transmitted simultaneously to a plurality of remote stations, a set of queues (303) for the multiple remote stations is maintained, and base d on queue status, a channel quality request messages is sent to a sub-set of remote stations with data queued.

Abstract: Separate forward dedicated and shared control channels (17, 18) are provided in a spread-spectrum communication. The forward dedicated control channel (1 8) is used to communicate persistent control information and point to the share d control channel (17) when further intermittent control information concernin g transmission of data to a mobile station (14) needs to be communicated. The use of a dedicated control channel for only necessary persistent control information, while only pointing to a shared control channel when it is needed, affords more efficient utilization of system resources.
