CONSTITUTION:An automatic picture quality adjustment device 1 forms a resolution signal processing circuit of a television receiver 2 and a radio wave received by an antenna 3 is tuned by a tuner 4, subject to video intermediate frequency amplification and video detection at a video intermediate frequency circuit 5, a video signal is formed and the video signal is fed to the input terminal of the device 1 as the input video signal. The automatic picture quality adjustment device 1 forms a control signal based on a level of an input video signal detected by a level detection means 9 and the control signal is used to control the operation of the level conversion processing for picture quality adjustment of the input video signal by the level conversion circuit 6. In such a case, a control means 11 varies the control range in response to the conversion operation parameter for picture quality adjustment set manually. Thus, always excellent automatic picture quality adjustment is executed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain accurate initial setting with rich in expansion performance by providing a memory into which all different signal form of remote control signals are written and applying initial setting through the key operation of an exclusive commander of a device being a control object. CONSTITUTION:A remote control signal of TV, VTR for all manufacturers is stored in a ROM 24. In the case of setting, an exclusive commander of an object TV or VTR is directed to a photodetector 34 of the general-purpose commander 20 to depress a power key. From a code pattern of the control signal corresponding to the power application, its manufacturer and whether the set is a TV or a VTR are discriminated and its code is written in a RAM 25. In the case of remote control by using it, a mode switch 28 is selected normally and a category switch is selected to TV or VTR. The code of the manufacturer is read out of the RAM 25 by the operation of the operation key 23 and a control signal is read out of the ROM 24 accordingly and the control signal is radiated via an output register 32 and an LED 31.

When the start time is not set yet, the time adding one minute to the present time is set as the start time. Since the time adding one minute to the present time is used as a default value of the start time, the start time does not pass over the present time at the end of reservation and timer video recording is attained as planned.

Also, since the main screen and the subscreen can be set independently, a TV program in a channel other than that in the channel currently viewed can be recorded, furthermore, the content of the picture recording can be visually confirmed through the subscreen.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To enable the reception of video signals during only a time period set in a counter so as to eliminate abuses of thoughtless watching television for a long time, by providing a time integrating counter which operates only when the power supply is on.
CONSTITUTION: A ROM22, RAM23, and I/O port 24 are provided in the control circuit of a television receiver and the command signal of a commander is inputted in the input side of the I/O port 24. Moreover, keys 28 and 29 inside the TV receiver main body are connected with the input side of the I/O port 24. A synchronizing pulse to a timer in a CPU21 is supplied through the keys 28 and 29 and a power supply synchronizing pulse is formed at a pulsing circuit 38 by supplying an AC signal from an AC source and supplied to the I/O port 24. The data are fetched by the ROM23 through the CPU21. Then input of video signals is enabled during only the time period when the power supply is on by means of the timer in the CPU21 so as to eliminate abuses of throughtless watching of television for a long time by users.
