    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an effect of an offset to a regenerative signal and to sufficiently obtain clock information also by wobbling groove both side edges so as to become a phase opposite to each other and recording a clock signal with a change of a groove width. SOLUTION: Since a groove G whose both side edges are wobbled at the phase opposite to each other, it becomes the state being width modulated so that the groove width is fluctuated periodically. A land L between the grooves G is similar also. Although the user data containing redundancy such as an error correction code, etc., are recorded/reproduced on a clock area, a data part, by that the groove is width modulated, an external clock is generated from this signal, and the user data are recorded/reproduced synchronized with this. In the groove G, the wobble is left/right symmetric when viewing from a track center, and return light is changed by a track width change, and e.g. when a bisected photodetector is used, a return light change is detected by a sum signal. On the other hand, in the groove G, address information is obtained from an address area wobbled at the same phase.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-density recording in recording scanning for a recording medium in which circulating tracks having data area on the land and the groove are formed in a double spiral shape by switching alternately tracking control to the centers of the land and the groove for each circulating track. SOLUTION: For a recording medium which uses both the groove GB and land LD formed in a double spiral shape as data recording tracks, recording scanning SSR is performed by the scan which advances the track pitch one by one in the radial direction. The recording scan shown by a broken line SSR is advanced by two track pitches in the radial direction at each circulation since the laser spot LSP proceeds through each center of the groove track which uses the groove GB and the land track which uses the land LD. Hence, the recording scan SSR is set to return by one track pitch at the time when one circular scan is finished. By this, a large-capacity recording is constituted.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the track density in the radial direction of a disk and increase the recording capacity while enabling tracking control. SOLUTION: A servo area of 24SCK length is provided at an address segment and a data segment. Segment marks and track marks are formed in the servo area by embossing or the like. The segment marks are formed at first position- seventh position in the servo area. Marks 1 are formed at succeeding 11th and 12th positions, and marks 2 are formed at 16th and 17th positions. Each of the marks 1 and 2 is formed every two tracks in a radial direction, and phases of the marks 1 and 2 are different by 180 deg.C. Whether it is a track of an even number or an odd number is distinguished from the presence/absence of a mark at the seventh position of the segment mark. Even when a polarity of a tracking error signal is inverted between the tracks of even and odd numbers, tracking control is conducted correctly.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To sufficiently and surely suppress the fluctuation of reproducing signals by correcting a level with the reproducing signal level of a reference area detected from a disk-like recording medium as a reference or performing pre-holding with a correction value. CONSTITUTION:Data for phase matching and level detection are preformated in the servo areas of the optical heads of respective segments for a disk 2. The phase shift of clocks is corrected with the phase matching information of logic '1' and '0' as the reference. Also, a reference level for demodulation is set with the difference RVL of the maximum and minimum of the similar information for the level detection as the reference. A timing generator 9 issues clamp pulses CL1 and CL2 with the output of a PLL circuit 8 as the reference. A sum signal SW is processed with a data clock DCK as the reference, a clamping circuit 14 is operated with a servo clock SCK as the reference and DC fluctuation is reduced. An A/D converter 13 converts the reproducing signal RF of the output of a selector 12 with a signal DCK as the reference and the clamping circuit 14 detects the reproducing signal level in a clamp area and sends it through a detection circuit 15 to a control circuit 16.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten tact time in injection molding of a disk and to obtain a disk in which a ghost pit is hard to occur by providing a pseudo pit in a region in which zero pit section is continued for the prescribed period or more. CONSTITUTION:Data after modulation is detected with the prescribed bits 17 unit in a disk signal recording method which records data in an optical disk 13 by such a modulation system that zero bit 16 periods are continued infinitely. When all bits 16 detected by this prescribed bits 17 unit are zero, a pseudo bit 15 is inserted to a fixed position within the prescribed bits unit and all bits 16 are recorded in the disk 13. By using this method, such a signal that zero data is continued long by a modulation method such as NRZ and NRZ1 is detected with the prescribed bits unit, for example 8 bits unit. When all bits in this 8 bits are zero, a pseudo bits is inserted to a fixed position in 8 bits, for example, between a 4th bit and 5th bit. Thereby, zero bit section is shortened, and a disk having no ghost pit and good quality is obtained.

Also, by adding an error correcting code to these information, information of the sector is obtained surely.
