Abstract: PURPOSE:To protect a copyright by preventing a 2nd unit from performing a recording operation when an erroneous erasure preventing mechanism of a tape cassette loaded in a 1st unit is under a recording inhibitory state. CONSTITUTION:With regard to a tape cassette 15 without a slider 38 but with an erroneous erasure prevention detecting hole 36 under its opening state, when this tape cassette 15 is loaded into the 1st unit, the opening state of the detecting hole 36 is detected via a probe 39 by a detecting part 24. Then, a switch 25 is opened by interlocking with this detection. Consequently, even when an operation part 26 is operated, a recording circuit 22 is not operated, and hence the recording operation by the 2nd unit is obstructed. By this method, a soft tape borrowed from a rental shop, etc., cannot be dubbed, thus ensuring that the copyright is protected.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the edition by reducing one of a master side picture reproduced from a master tape and an edited picture reproduced from the edited tape so as to form a sub picture and fitting it into other main picture and displaying the result. CONSTITUTION:One of the master picture and the edited picture is reduced by a sub picture processing circuit 55 to form a sub picture and inserted to other main picture and the result is displayed. The edition start point is sought while observing the main picture on a monitor 13, a pause button 18a is depressed to stop the player 38 tentatively. When the picture switching button 35a or 36a is depressed in this state, since a changeover means 38 replaces the main and sub pictures, the main picture is switched as necessary to confirm it and to be corrected by a jog dial 37a. Then the edition button 29a is depressed to operate the player 38 and the recorder 39 to transfer the master tape 11 onto the edition tape 12. Through the constitution above, both the pictures are observed easily to apply the edition.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an influence on tape tension by a simple constitution by controlling the contact and separation of a pinch roller to and from a capstan after controlling the braking of a take-up reel by a signal delayed by a fixed period of time according to a control signal. CONSTITUTION:With switch 1 operated, FF3 is set to set a pause stand-by mode and with switch 1 operated again in succession, the pause state is set invert the set output of FF3, thereby setting FF6 synchronizing with control pulse VD formed of a vertical synchronizing signal through NAND gate 4. The Q output of this FF6 places the recording system of VTR in muting mode and also brakes a take-up reel through solenoid 20. On the other hand, the Q' output of FF having passed through inverter 7 is delayed by a fixed period of time by delay circuit 22 to keep the balance of the back tension of a tape through solenoid 21 and then the pinch roller separates from the capstan. Pause reset operation is similarly performed and the run start and stop of the tape can be controlled excellently without exerting an influence upon tape tension.
