Abstract: PURPOSE:To control stably a scan by performing the scanning control of an electron beam based on an index signal obtained by scanning the electron beam in the main scanning direction while the beam is oscillated minutely in the subscanning direction. CONSTITUTION:The index lines extended in the main scanning direction of the electron beam at the inside face of a screen 21 of a cathode ray tube 20 are arranged and formed in the subscanning direction at a prescribed interval and each fluorescent body line is arranged and formed sequentially one by one line between the index lines. The electron beam is scanned in the main scanning direction while being oscillated minutely in the subscanning direction and luminance modulation is applied to a beam spot from a luminance modulation circuit 14 in synchronizing with this minute oscillation. Further, the index signal obtained from the index line is applied to a synchronizing detecting circuit 17 through a band pass filter 16 so as to obtain a prescribed level of the synchronizing detection output.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect easily position information regarding a fluorescent body line, by providing two kinds of index lines so that the upper and lower adjacent positions in the vertical direction are reversed each other by an odd field line and an even field line. CONSTITUTION:Plural color phosphor lines CL are extensively provided in the horizontal direction, on the inside face of a screen of a CRT, and between them, a guard band of no-color is formed. Two kinds of index lines IL1, IL2 which can be detected by being discriminated from each other, with regard to the respective adjacent lines on both sides of an optional line CL are applied and formed on these guard bands, respectively. When said lines IL1, IL2 are provided so that the upper and lower adjacent positions in the vertical direction are reversed each other by an odd field line CLO and an even field line CLE, landing control of an electronic beam to the line CL can be executed very easily by such control as a detecting level difference of the lines IL1, IL2 becomes ''0''.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure the accurate beam landing of each line and to simplify the circuit constitution despite the inferior vertical deflection linearity, by compensating the beam position from an error of beam position set before a 1H delay when the horizontal scan is started. Similarly, switches 25, 26 and 27 are sequentially closed and the convergence is made in the order of upper right, lower left and lower right.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a circuit which detects a shift in vertical center and compensates fluctuations of a screen, by utilizing an index signal, obtained by scanning a part other than an effective screen horizontally, as information on the position of the vertical center. CONSTITUTION:Stripes of fluorescent materials for obtaining an index signal SI are arranged above or below an effective screen area, and detected by a photodetector 2. The detection output of the index signal obtained by scanning a prescribed position outside of the effective screen with a beam is utilized as information on the position of a vertical center. When the vertical center is at the correct position, the index signal is detected only at the front half of the screen, and a gate circuit 31 gates a multiplier output PI by the 2nd selection pulse PC as the reference signal of the vertical center; and the gate output GC is made into a DC output, which is supplied to a control transistor (TR) Q2. If the vertical center shifts, the control voltage applied to the TRQ2 varies and the compensation voltage applied to a vertical deflecting coil VDY also varies, thereby compensates the vertical center.

CONSTITUTION:Band variation circuit 2 is constituted by secondary differentiating circuit 3 to supply the video signal through input terminal 1 and first level varying means 5 comprising the potentiometer which supplies the output of circuit 3 via differential amplifier circuit 4. Furthermore, the following component parts are added to form definition improving circuit 10: compounder 7 which adds the output of circuit 2 and the output of video signal amplifier circuit 6 together; drimary differentiating circuit 11 to supply the output of compounder 7; and second level varying means 12 to supply the output of circuit 11. Then the output of circuit 10 is supplied to electron beam scanning velocity modulation means G4. Thus, the deterioration of the phase characteristics caused by variations of the band of the video signal can be prevented, improving the definition of the TV picture.
