Abstract: PURPOSE: To raise gasification efficiency and heating efficiency by a method wherein a heating means in which a recording material of a recording material accomodating part is heated to be transferred to a material to be recorded is composed of a heating element which extends at least in a depth direction of the recording material accomodating part. CONSTITUTION: When a head 70 is operated as an actual vaporizer, a molten liquid dye 22 sucked up by a capillary phenomenon from a side surface of a piller-shaped body 175A of a micro-heater is heated at about 50-300 deg.C by the piller-shaped heater part 175A ranging over the whole in a depth direction. The dye 22 is vaporized from an upper part hole 150 of an electrode 85 and around an electrode 84 to be stuck to a material to be recorded, and printing can be carried out on photographic paper without any contact. In that case, the dye 22 permeated around the piller-shaped body 175A can be efficiently heated to be vaporized without fleeing. Further, since the heat is generated by the piller-shaped heating element 175A ranging in a depth direction of a dye accomodating part 87, the heat is held sufficiently over the whole of the dye, and there is hardly any influence caused by diffusion on a base 73.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve efficiency in gasification by transmitting heat efficiently to a recording material by a method wherein a porous structure which holds and feeds the recording material is provided at a position deeper than that of a heating element provided on a surface area of the recording material. CONSTITUTION: A heating element 75 is arranged on a surface area of a liquified dye 22 in a dye-accomodating part 87 of a printer head 70. Therefore, temperature of the liquified gas 22 is quickly raised on the surface area to make thermal efficiency by heating ascend, and efficiency in transfer of the dye by gasification can be improved. Further, a fine meandering pillar-shaped body 80 for holding and feeding the dye 22 is provided as a porous structure at a position deeper than that of the heating element 75 on the surface area of the dye 22 in contact therewith. Therefore, a capillary structure comes to be provided also to a gasification part 77, running away of the dye is inhibited by capillary action to hold the dye effectively and feed a specific amount thereof, and heat by the heating element 75 can be efficiently transmitted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of evaporation efficiency due to a rise of atmospheric pressure and the disturbance of a dye immediately after transfer, in a printer equipped with a head part transferring a dye evaporated under heating to printing paper in an evaporation part, by providing an air adjusting part in communication with the evaporation part. CONSTITUTION:The head part 10 of a printer is constituted of the receiving part 11 of a solid evaporative dye 12, the introducing part 15 of a liquid evaporative dye 12' formed by heating the solid evaporative dye and an evaporation part of the liquid evaporative dye 12'. The introducing part 15 and the evaporation part 17 are surrounded by a protective layer 13 and a bed base member 14. In this case, an evaporation hole 17a is provided to the surface coming into contact with printing paper 50 of the head part 10, that is, the protective layer 13 corresponding to the evaporation part 17 and an air adjusting part 30 is provided in adjacent relation to the evaporation hole 17a. By this constitution, the lowering of evaporation efficiency due to the rise of atmospheric pressure in the evaporation hole 17a is prevented and the disturbance of the dye 12' immediately after transferred to the printing paper 50 is prevented.

On the top end of the ink ribbon 40, a ribbon lead-out film 41 is bonded. On each side of the ribbon lead-out film 41, a plurality of take-up perforations are provided. In this manner, when the ribbon lead-out film 41 is wound into a cylindrical foam between a pair of take-up reel mounts on a printer side, a ribbon take-up reel 41' having a core of the ribbon lead-out film 41 is formed to be wound with a used ink ribbon.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To diminish the capacity of a rectified DC voltage source, and to miniaturize a set and reduce cost while improving the quality of photographic printing in a battery driven type printer. CONSTITUTION:A rechargeable battery 7 is installed to a power supply for photographic printing, the battery 7 is charged previously by a rectified DC voltage source composed of an AC rectifying section 2, a switching section 3, a voltage control section 4 and a secondary rectifying section 5 at the time of non-photographic printing and electricity is discharged at the time of photographic printing, and power for photographic printing is supplied. A voltage drop by discharge at that time is detected, and an output from the rectified DC voltage source is controlled by a voltage control section 4 so as to correspond to the voltage drop section, and overlapped to the battery 7 through a charge/overlapping changeover section 6 and an over-lapping section 8, and corrected. Consequently, photographic printing voltage is stabilized, and the quality of photographic printing is improved. Accordingly, the rectified DC voltage source is used together with the battery 7, thus diminishing the capacity of the rectified DC voltage source for photographic printing, then saving space and reducing cost.

The voice can be regenerated by a voice regenerator, such as a card coder. Printing characters and a message can be transmitted by a voice in addition to a video image or printed characters.

CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary head 6 marks an identification mark on a part of a part not to be printed of an ink ribbon 4 by receiving a command from a CPU 17 through an auxiliary head control circuit 18. Because of this identification mark, discrimination of used parts and unused parts at least at every sheet of the ink ribbon is possible. Further, by reading this identification mark by a sensor 7 at, for example, exchange of the ink ribbon, a head of an unused ink ribbon can be taken out and the number of used sheets or remaining quantity can be confirmed.

Rectangular evaporation holes 68a, 97a, 91a are provided to the heater layer 68, liquid stop layer 97 and protective layer 91 on the heating element 75 arranged to the central part of the second wall 102a to form an evaporation part 77. The liquefied dye 122 in the liquefied dye supply passage 84 is heated and evaporated in the vicinity of the upper part thereof by the heat from the heating element 75 to fly upward and bonded to a material to be recorded to perform recording. The liquefied dye on the heating element 75 consumed by evaporation has a recessed part temporarily and partially but the recessed part is immediately supplied with the dye by the surface tension of the liquefied dye 22 and the flow caused by the wettability of the first and second walls 82a, 102a.

The block pressed via a pressing plate 145 by a coiled spring 144 is liquefied by the contact surface with the heater 168 to be moved down, and the liquefied dye 22 is supplied to a dye supply passage 84 via the groove 146a of a base plate 146 and a dye supply port 83. The dye 22 in the passage 84 is heat insulated by the heater 168, and then the dye vaporized by the vaporizer 77 is transferred to a print sheet 50.
