Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a smooth polyester film having no damage by a film stretching method utilizing the peripheral speed difference between rolls. SOLUTION: In film stretching rolls stretching a film by utilizing the peripheral speed difference between the rolls, the surface layer of each of the rolls is composed of a metal containing fluorine-contaianing polymer fine particles and the surface roughness Ry value of each surface layer is 0.3-1μm and the number of the surface damages wherein height or depth or the sum of height and depth is 1μm or more of each surface layer is set to 40/100cm or less. A polyester film is produced by using the above mentioned rolls.

CONSTITUTION:A difference between humidityproof parameter within 5cm from an end part of a polyester film having width of at least 500mm and humidityproof parameter of the central part is made 0.07wt.% or less. Furthermore, an arithmetic mean roughness value Ra is made 10-28nm, plane properties of a film is made favourable and processing properties of various coating agents are made excellent.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve electromagnetic conversion characteristics, traveling property and long-term storage property by specifying a polyester film concerning to the arithmetical average roughness Ra, extraction amt. of oligomers in methylene chloride at 20 deg.C for 2.5 minutes, and surface crystallinity expressed by the ratio of absorption in 1386 cm band to 1370 cm band determined by refractive IR spectroscopy. CONSTITUTION:The film is formed so that it shows the arithmetical average roughness Ra of 10 - 28 nm, extraction amt. of oligomers in methylene chloride at 20 deg.C for 2.5 minutes, surface crystallinity of >=0.38 expressed by the ratio of absorption band in 1386 cm band to 1370 cm band determined by refractive IR spectroscopy. If Ra is lower than the specified value, traveling property of the traveling side of a magnetic tape decreases, which increases friction against various guide pins and causes traveling faults, or causes dropout due to worn particles during traveling is repeated. If the Ra is higher than the specified value, the magnetic surface of a magnetic tape becomes rough to cause bad electromagnetic conversion characteristics. Thereby, by this method, the obtd. medium has excellent storage property, surface abrasion resistance and electromagnetic conversion characteristics at high temp and high humidity for a long time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent electrification by making electromagnetic properties and running properties favorable, by a method wherein layers A, B are laminated, an antistatic agent and inorganic matter particulates are contained in the layer B, a coating layer consisting mainly of shading particulates is formed on the surface, specific light transmittance, surface resistivity, surface kinetic coefficient of friction and mean roughness (Ra) on the center line of the surface are possessed and the Ra of the surface of the layer A is specified. CONSTITUTION:An antistatic agent and inorganic matter particulates are contained within a layer B and a coating layer consisting mainly of shading particulates is formed on the outside of the layer B of a composite polyester film obtained by laminating the layers A, B comprised both of polyester. Light transmittance, surface resistivity of the outside of the layer B, the kinetic coefficient of friction of the outside of the layer B, mean roughness (Ra) on the center line of the outside of the layer B and the Ra of the outside of the layer A are made respectively 60% or less, 10 OMEGA or less, 0.20 or less, 0.010-0.025 mum and smaller than 0.015 mum. Various surface active agents are used for the antistatic agent, the inorganic matter particulates in the layer B are for provision of a fine protrusion on the outside of the layer B and the shading particulates contained in the outside coating layer of the layer B are made into tinting particulates.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composite polyester film superior in light shielding properties, antistatic properties, and ease of slipping by a method wherein a layer A and a layer B, both of which are made of polyester, are laminated with each other, light-screening fine particle, an antistatic agent, and inorganic fine particle are incorporated in the layer B, and the light transmittance, the surface resistivity and coefficient of dynamic friction of the outer surface of the layer B, and the center line average height of the outer surfaces of the layers A, B are specified. CONSTITUTION:In a composite polyester film, a layer A and a layer B, both of which are made of polyester, are laminated with each other. Light-screening fine particle, an antistatic agent, and inorganic fine particle are incorporated in the layer B. The light transmittance is 60% or less, the surface resistivity of the outer surface of the layer B is 10 OMEGA or less, and the coefficient of dynamic friction of the outer surface of the layer B is 0.20 or less. The center line average height Ra of the outer surface of the layer B is 0.010-0.025mum, and the Ra of the outer surface of the layer A is less than 0.015mum. Because one surface on the side of the layer A has smoothness and the other surface on the side of the layer B has ease of slipping, antistatic properties, and good light shielding properties, a video tape superior in electromagnetic characteristics and running properties and free from electrification can be produced only by providing a magnetic layer with high magnetic substance density on the side of the layer A.

CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic resin layers A, B are laminated and a thin ferromagnetic metallic film is formed on the layer A side surface of the resulting laminated film to obtain a magnetic recording medium. At this time, the thickness of the layer A is regulated to 1/100-1/2 of that of the laminated film, the surface roughness Ra of the layer A to =9kg/mm . Thus, the resistance of the magnetic recording medium to scratch by a magnetic head and the S-N can be improved.
