    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously achieve both of prevention of generation of wrinkles on the ribbon and improvement of the picture quality and the gradient of a printed image even when the energy of a thermal head is increased, or a large- sized color printing is required. SOLUTION: This polyester film for thermal transfer printer ribbon is a biaxially oriented polyester film having a thickness of 1.5-13 μm, and the film simultaneously satisfies conditions of (1) the tensile elastic modulus both in the longitudinal and lateral directions is 4.5 GPa or higher, (2) there is a point wherein the gradient of the temperature dimension change curve in the longitudinal and lateral directions changes from negative to positive, and a temperature at the point is 220 deg.C or higher, and also, the dimensional change rates to the original length of the film at the point are -6-0% in the longitudinal direction, and -3-+3% in the lateral direction.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film, most suitable for use in a surface cover of plasma display that can exhibit the excellent function of absorbing near infrared rays without any damage to the clarity of image on plasma display. SOLUTION: A polyester film has a hansmittance of all light rays of not less than 70%, an absorptivity in a wavelength region of 800-1,000 nm of not less than 60% and the number of flaws having a length of not less than 5mm and a depth of not less than 1.5 μm of not more than 3/m . The member of flaws having a length of not less than 5 mm and a depth of not less than 1.5 μm and extending angularly within ±45 deg. with respect to the width direction of the film is, preferably, not more than 1 /m .

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the glare of a surface, and also, provide a full color hard copy of a high image quality without a dot void and a dot missing of an ink by a method wherein the surface roughness of a biaxially drawn polyester film on one surface of which a heat-sensitive transfer image receiving layer is provided, is transferred onto the heat-sensitive transfer image receiving layer. SOLUTION: For the constitution of this heat-sensitive transfer image receiving sheet, e.g. on one surface of a biaxially drawn polyester film 1 as a supporting body, a heat-sensitive transfer image receiving layer 2 is provided, and the surface roughness of a rear surface II of the film 1, is transferred to a face surface I of the image receiving layer 2. Also, the biaxially drawn polyester film which becomes the supporting body, is a fine air bubble-containing polyester film of which the density is 0.5 g/cm or higher, and 1.3 g/cm or lower. Also, for the resin of the heat-sensitive transfer image receiving layer, the glass transition point Tg stays in a range of 160 deg.C>=Tg>=-10 deg.C. This is for facilitating the transfer of the surface roughness of the biaxially drawn polyester film surface II, by being a resin which is easy to deform.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain durability at high temperature and in high humidity and easy sliding, easy adhesion, and antistatic properties by a method in which at least on one side of a polyester resin, another polyester resin having smaller melting energy than the resin is laminated, and a water-soluble or a water- dispersing resin not containing inactive particles is laminated on the latter polyester resin. SOLUTION: At least on one side of a polyester resin A, a polyester resin B having smaller melting energy than the resin A is laminated, and a water-soluble or water-dispersing resin not containing inactive particles is laminated on the resin B. Polyethylene terephthalate is named as the resin A, and a resin which is obtained by a method in which a 100:0-60:40 mole % mixture of terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid is used as an acid component, a 100:0-60:40 mole % mixture of ethylene glycol and cyclohexane dimethanol is used as an alcohol component, and the mixtures are co-polycondensed is used as the resin B. The water-soluble or water-dispersing resin has functions including easy adhesion, antistatic, easy sliding, and mold releasing properties.
