    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of a gas of hydrogen, oxygen or the like, by employing a reversible electrode reaction liquid with the base oxidation potential lower than an oxygen generation potential as anode liquid and a reversible electrode reaction liquid with the noble reduction potential higher than a hydrogen generation potential as cathode liquid to eliminate pollution of an emigration liquid. CONSTITUTION:An anode liquid 12' and a cathode liquid 14' use ammonium cobalt chloride or the like, a reversible reaction system in an aqueous solution not involving H and OH . An anode diaphragm 7' uses, for example, an anion selectively permeating ion exchange film in which quaternary ammonium group is supported on polytetrafluoroethylene. A cathode diaphragm 8' uses, for example, an cation selectively permeating ion exchange film having carboxylic acid or the like supported on polytetrafluoroethylene with the cation transference number lowered to 0.7-0.9. An electrophoretic processing is performed using such kinds of liquids and diaphragms eliminates the generation of oxygen and hydrogen from an anode 5' and a cathode 6' thereby preventing the pollution of a migration liquid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a gas of hydrogen, oxygen or the like while eliminating the pollution of an electrophoresis liquid, by providing metal with a base potential lower than an oxygen generation potential for an anode and a reversible electrode with a noble reducing potential higher than hydrogen potential for a cathode. CONSTITUTION:When metal Fe with a base potential lower than an oxygen generation potential is used as anode 5', no oxygen is generated as current flows in Fe Fe +2e . An cathode employs AgCl as reducing type electrode with the generation of no hydrogen. In this case, current flows due to the reac tion of AgCl+e Ag+Cl and no hydrogen is generated. In an anode dia phragm 7', because of an anion exchange membrane, Fe , Zn and the like generated from the anode 5' are blocked and an anion component such as CH3 COO and Cl of a migration chamber 2 enters an anode chamber 3. In an cathode diaphragm 8', ion components such as K and TEA (triethanol amine) in a migration liquid is allowed to permeate and finally, electrode ion dissolved is blocked form permeating into the migration chamber 2 by a selectively ion transmitting membrane thereby eliminating pollution of the migration liquid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the excellent durability not only to (g) line and (h) line of a near IR region but to (i) line as well by executing the reduction treatment of a polyvinyl acetal resin which is heretofore used for the pellicle film. CONSTITUTION:This pellicle film consists of the resin obtd. by reducing the polyvinyl acetal resin expressed by formula. In the formula, R is 1 to 3C straight chain or branched alkyl group; the content of a vinyl acetate y/(x+y+z) is =0.6. Such polyvinyl acetal resin can be obtd. by the condensation reaction by known techniques of polyvinyl alcohol and aldehydes, such as acetoaldehyde, propion aldehyde, n-butyl aldehyde and sec-butylaldehyde. Then, the coloration and deterioration when the pellicle film is irradiated with the (i) line generated heretofore in the conventional pellicle films are suppressed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the reflection of light and to obtain good productivity by forming an antireflection layer consisting of a specific copolymer on one surface of a transparent thin film consisting of polyvinyl acetal. CONSTITUTION:The antireflection layer consisting of the copolymer of the fluorine-contg. alkyl (meth)acrylate expressed by formula I and the hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate which is expressed by formula II and has plural OH groups at the terminal or side chain is formed on at least one surface of the trnasparent thin film consisting of the polyvinyl acetal. In the formula I, R denotes H or methyl group; R denotes the group expressed by (CH2)m(CF2)nF, where m, n respectively denote m=1 to 2, n=3 to 14 integers. In the formula II, R denotes H or methyl group; R denotes an alkyl group of a 2 to 4C range having the OH groups at the terminal or side chain. The antireflection layer maintains a low refractive index in this way and the exposing time is shortened. The production efficiency is thus improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To convert neutral salt into acid and alkali with high current efficiency by utilizing a water splitter in which both the anion exchange membrane of an anode side and the cation exchange membrane of a cathode side are mutually unjointed and closely opposed and electro-dialysing a salt soln. CONSTITUTION:A water splitter is constituted by mutually unjointing both the anion exchange membrane of an anode side and the cation exchange membrane of a cathode side and closely opposing both membranes. At least one piece of water splitter is utilized and a salt soln. is electro-dialyzed to convert this salt soln. into hydroxide and acid. Concretely acid and alkali can be produced by an electrodialysis cell in which a set of splitter S with the cation exchange membrane C and the anion exchange membrane A closely opposed with each other is arranged between the anode and the cathode. Further an ion permeable semipermeable membrane free from an ion exchange group can be interposed between the anion exchange membrane and the cation exchange membrane.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition for an optical material for optical disc bases excellent in transparency, heat resistance, humidity resistance and mechanical strengths and being optically homogeneous and lowly birefringent by curing an epoxy resin based on a compound having a specified polycyclic structure. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition for an optical material is produced by curing an epoxy resin based on a compound having a polycyclic structure of the formula. This resin composition is featured in that it is excellent in transparency, heat resistance, humidity resistance and mechanical strengths and is optically homogeneous and lowly birefringent. Therefore, it is very excellent as a resin for an optical material for optical discs. The above compound can be obtained by epoxidizing dicyclopentadiene with an oxidizing agent such as a peroxy acid (e.g., peroxyacetic acid) or a hydroperoxide.
