Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimating method and an estimating system for the color of a coated print, which predicts or estimates the color of a coated image based on the color measurement values of the colors printed before coating. SOLUTION: A method for estimating the color of a coated print includes: a step of measuring the color of an uncoated print with a color measuring device; a step of estimating the color of the print when coated through a coating process based on the uncoated color measurement value using a function that correlates uncoated color measurement values and coated color measurement values; and a step of adjusting at least one parameter of the printing process based on the coated color estimation. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a multi-color image having low toner heaped height by using a powder developer. SOLUTION: This multi-color image printing device is provided with a means for forming at most one layer of the toner particles of one color separation on an intermediate member, a film layer forming station 400 forming a thin film layer by applying and spreading the toner particles, a means for forming a multi-layer film on the intermediate member by superposing the layer of the toner particles of different color separation similarly formed on that of the toner particles of one color separation, and a means for transferring and fixing the color image on the multi-color film layer on a recording paper from the intermediate member. Since the multi-color image obtained by this device has low toner heaped height, the appearance problem of the document (paper distortion caused by curling and waving gives dissatisfaction in nice appearance, increased paper jamming rate, and makes handling and finish of paper complicated) can be solved.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that though the lightness color reproduction of the halftone of a colored toner is adjusted so far by reducing a blending quantity of a colorant, the adjustment is difficult because there is hue difference. SOLUTION: There is provided a process for producing an image of excellent color fidelity when uniting a magenta toner and a small quantity of a colorant. The color of a first magenta toner printed at a predetermined halftone area coverage on a substrate substantially matches the color of the solid (100%) printed patch of a second magenta toner, which is lighter than the first magenta toner, thus avoiding a visible hue shift. The light magenta toner is color matched by adding a hue-adjusting colorant or combination of colorants which absorb wavelengths of light from about 400 to about 500 nm, and optionally adding a shade-adjusting colorant or combination of colorants which absorb wavelengths of light from about 600 to about 700 nm. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more easily form an image in a non-offset image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The non-offset image forming apparatus comprises a simulated ink key input device including a plurality of simulated ink keys, an ink key simulator 280, and an image forming unit configured to output a printed image from image data adjusted by the ink key simulator 280 based on an input from the simulated ink key input device. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and method for compensating for effects by spatially dependent colorant appearance variations associated with colorant interaction. SOLUTION: The image processing system comprises: image rendering devices; a colorant interaction based spatial uniformity detector/isolator that is operative to measure spatial uniformity variations in a rendering process of the at least one image rendering device, detect or isolate colorant interaction based aspects of the measured spatial uniformity variations and determine a spatially dependent decorrelating function that compensates for the detected or isolated colorant interaction based aspects of the measured spatial uniformity variations; and a colorant interaction based spatial uniformity variation compensator that is operative to receive the spatially dependent decorrelating function from the colorant interaction based spatial uniformity detector/isolator, to receive a first color and location description and to processes the first color description through the decorrelating function, in accord with the location information, thereby generating a colorant description that is compensated for spatially dependent colorant interaction effects of the at least one image rendering device. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the applying method of clear toner which can be more inexpensively executed at higher speed than a conventional method and by which a high-quality image can be formed. SOLUTION: A printing system using a re-electrifying system, an exposure system and a developing image-on-image process color system and having an optical gloss exposure step is disclosed. This printing system can be made into such a single path system that all colors can be developed by a single path and such a combination path system that the respective colors are developed by the independent path.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively obtain required peeling performance by eliminating need for always supplying a functional oil whose concentration is comparatively high to a heating, pressuring and welding device as a releasing agent. SOLUTION: By a web 62 impregnated with the releasing agent, the releasing agent is supplied to the outer elastomer layer 48 of a welding roll 52. Then, alternate bands, that means, the areas on the web 62 are impregnated with the functional releasing agent having a functional chain whose concentration is comparatively high and the releasing agent having low functionality or non- functionality. Then, the web 62 is carried to a roll 61 from a roll 60 so as to alternately supply two kinds of releasing agent. The high-concentration releasing agent is periodically imparted in a comparatively short time at an initial time and periodically imparted thereafter at need.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a structure that does not require continuous supply of a functional oil of a rather high concn. as a removing agent to the heating, pressurizing and welding device and that the required releasing performance can be obtd. at a low cost. SOLUTION: In this structure 10, a functional removing agent 24 having functional chains of rather high concn. (about 0.05 to 0.3 mol.%) is supplied to an elastomer welding member 12 by a first RAM (releasing agent managing) system 26. Then, a releasing agent having of low functional property or no functional property is supplied by a second RAM system 44. The first agent is periodically supplied while the second agent is continuously supplied. The periodical supply of the high concn. releasing agent 24 includes a rather short time of supply when the machine is started and the succeeding periodical supply as required.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a cyan toner and a small quantity of a colorant to a first cyan toner and to produce an image of excellent color fidelity. SOLUTION: A light cyan toner is color matched by adding a hue-adjusting colorant or combination of colorants which absorb wavelengths of light between 500 and 600 nm, and optionally adding a shade-adjusting colorant or combination of colorants which absorb wavelengths of light between 400 and 500 nm.
