    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a crossed field discharge device in which the change of discharge status and the manifestation of discharge instability caused by the formation of a laminated layer are suppressed by providing, in the hollow section of the anode, a means that generates a magnetic field which is substantially parallel to its axial center core of an anode. CONSTITUTION:A cathode material is mostly caught by the inner surface of a substrate 11 that is not touching a group of electrons which maintains discharge and the side of a blade piece 12. Therefore, such an effect is obtained that the interaction between the said group of electrodes and laminated layer is restricted sharply and the nanifestation of discharge instability caused by the said interaction is suppressed. Besides, a part of the cathode materials laminated on the end face of the blade piece 12 and the inner surface of a connection material 14 is re-emitted to the space by the group of electrons. But since the greater part of the re-emitted material is caught by the inner surface of the substrate 11 of the said anode or the side of the blade piece 12, the accumulation of the cathode material on the end face of the blade piece 12 and the inner surface of the connection material 14 can be suppressed.

CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field generator 4 comprising a winding container 41, a hollow electromagnet 42, an epoxy resin, etc. is contained in a air-tight container 3 comprising a circular container 1 having C-shaped cross-section and a cover 2 of hollow disc. One end of a cooling water piping 34 made of nonmagnetic stainless steel having a bellows tube is mounted on one side in the proximity of the outer circumference of the cover 2 and conducted with an air-tight container 3. A discharging power source is connected between an anode 9 and the first and second cathodes 5, 7 to produce magnetic field directing from first cathode 5 toward second cathode 7 to cause PIG discharge between the anode 9 and the cathodes 5, 7.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness by comparing an emission current detecting value with a reference value and controlling the ON/OFF of filament current based on a compared output. CONSTITUTION:A triode type ionization vacuum gage 10 in an emission control device is constituted of a filament 11, a glid 12 and a collector 13. An ion current measuring circuit 14 is connected to the collector 13 and a constant voltage circuit 15 is connected to the glid 12. On the other hand, power is supplied from a power source 21 to the filament 11 through a power transistor Q1 and a switch 22. The emission current is detected by a resistor R4. In addition, a Schmitt circuit consisting of an operational amplifier 23 and a reference voltage power source 24, a photocoupler 25 and an abnormality detecting circuit 26 are also arranged in the device. Thus, the detecting value is compared with the reference value to control the ON/OFF of current through the filament.
