    Abstract: A fenestration product such as a door or a window includes a plurality of frame members positioned in a surrounding relationship about a panel, eac h of the members having a pair of opposite open ends. A plurality of corner locks couple the beveled ends of the frame members together to form secure corners of the frame. A miter joint interface line is defined between the abutting, beveled ends of the members at each corner. Each comer lock comprises a generally L-shaped body having a pair of legs that are secured within the open ends of the corresponding frame member s. A pair of parallel sealant channels extend along the back, top and front of the bod y and are disposed on opposite sides of and laterally offset from the interface line s o that sealant filling the channels creates a pair of parallel seal paths between the lock and the frame that are laterally offset from the interface line. This keeps the sealant fr om escaping through the interface line onto the decorative surface of the frame and creating an unsightly deposit, yet provides a secure seal against the environment. A sma ll notch in the frame at each corner allows a small amount of the sealant to flow out of the corner and onto the non-decorative surface of the frame for covering the interface line on the non-decorative surface.

Electrical coupling means (18) preferably in the form of a conductive primer is applied to the one end (14) of the pultrusion (10) prior to electrostatic coating in order to eliminate arcing problems. Alternately, a pultrusion (20) may be provided having a section (22) free of embedded elements with one or more sections (24, 26) having conductive elements (28) therein.

    Abstract: A preferred fenestration product (10), such as a window, includes a plurality of installation fins (22) rotatably coupled with the mounting surfaces (36) of respective frame members (28,30) of the product (10). Each fin (22) is rotatable between a retracted position in which the fin (22) is positioned flush again st a respective mounting surface (36) and extends toward the outboard side (32) o f the product (10), and an extended position in which the fin (22) extends outward ly from a respective mounting surface (36). This configuration allows the product (10) to be installed in a building opening (12), shimmed as needed for level and plumb with the fins (22) in the retracted position, and then rotated to the extended positi on and attached to the framework (16) surrounding the opening (12).

    Abstract: A fenestration apparatus such as a door or window includes a unitary frame having first and second walls defining a cavity that opens toward the inboard wall of the frame. The first wall includes ridges defining a trough for receiving a bead of sealant. The second wall includes a shelf and a ramp between the shelf and the cavity opening. During assembly, the edge of the pane engages the ramp and follows the contour thereof toward a seated position on the shelf and toward a seated position against the ridges and sealant bead. This avoids the squeezing out of any sealant onto exposed portions of the pane.

    Abstract: A spring powered roll type fiberglass window screen has side edges received in guide channels in which locking bars are pivotally and slidably received. In closing the screen, the locking bars are longitudinally slidable by a screen actuator which in turn causes the locking bars to be pivoted into engagement with the screen by action of a guide actuator tab engaging a cam surface on the locking bar. In opening the screen, the screen actuator moves the locking bar upwardly until it is pivoted out of engagement therewith by a guide cam surface on the guide channel whereupon the screen is free to move to a fully raised position, leaving behind the locking bar.
