    Abstract: PURPOSE: A foldable derrick structure for a ship is provided to allow for the ship to pass the route with air draft limit quickly by folding the derrick. CONSTITUTION: A derrick includes an upper derrick element(12), a lower derrick element(11), and a hinge unit(20) which couples the upper derrick element to rotate with respect to the lower derrick element fixed to the ship. A wire(50) is connected to one side of the upper derrick element and rolled by winches(41,42) to provide driving power to the upper derrick element.
