Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for providing a DRM service and a device thereof are provided to offer a compatible content with a DRM system, and decodes an encoded streaming data to play even when the DRM system is not installed in a user terminal. Abstract: A method and an apparatus for decoding right object, and a method and an apparatus for sharing contents using the same are provided to share encoded contents by transmitting a DRM(Digital Rights Management) agent between devices with different DRM systems from one another. Abstract: A method and a device for generating an RO(Rights Object) by recommitting authority are provided to enable a user to share DRM(Digital Rights Management) contents with the device not included in the same domain irrespective of permission of an RI(Rights Issuer) or a representative device by recommitting the authentication for generating the RO between the devices connected to the RI in a chain mode. An RO generator(230) modifies the first RO to a second RO by using the second authority commitment information. A transceiver(260) transmits the third authority commitment information and the second RO to an unauthorized device not included in the same domain. The first device receives the third RO and the first authority commitment information from the RI through authentication with the RI, and modifies the third RO to the first RO by using the first authority commitment information.
