Abstract: PURPOSE: A MAC(Medium Access Control) protocol is provided in a wireless ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) system. CONSTITUTION: A communication system for a wireless asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) comprises: a plurality of mobile terminals for demanding slot allocation to per-DLCC(Data Link Control Connection) in a base station of a wireless ATM communication system; a base station for allocating slots to the per-MT about the demand. When the each terminal transmits data link connection data through the allocated slots, the each terminal has a header composing device, which includes ID of the data and transmits. The base station receives the data link control connection data, confirms the ID of the data link control connection data, decides an error of the received data, and demand re-transmission of the data to the terminal when an error is generated.
