    Abstract: A driving circuit for an electroless lamp is provided to reduce a switching loss in a high frequency region by using a MOSFET(Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) as a switching element. An inverter circuit includes two switching elements which are comprised in a half-bridge configuration and connected to a DC voltage source(1). A filter circuit(3) removes harmonic components from a square wave from the inverter and supplies a basic voltage and current to an electroless lamp(100). A gate driving circuit turns on/off the switching elements in the inverter circuit at a high speed. A phase difference detecting circuit(5) measures a phase difference of a signal which is detected by a current sensor(23). The current sensor is connected to an output terminal of the inverter circuit. An error amplifier circuit(6) compares the phase difference from the phase difference detecting circuit with a phase difference command value and amplifies the compared result. A VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator)(7) receives a signal from the error amplifier circuit and outputs a digital pulse for driving the gate driving circuit.
