Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of flexible, soft polyurethane foams having viscoelastic, structure borne soundproofing properties in a temperature range of from -20 DEG C to +80 DEG C, by reacting a) a polyoxyalkylene-polyol mixture containing ai) a block polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene-polyol mixture having a hydroxyl number of from 14 to 65 and containing from 2 to 9 % by weight, based on the weight of the polyoxypropylene units, of terminally bonded ethylene oxide units, and prepared by anionic polymerisation at elevated temperature of 1,2-propylene oxide onto an initiator molecule mixture having a mean functionality of from 2.3 to 2.8 comprising water and glycerol and/or trimethylolpropane, and polymerisation of ethylene oxide onto the resultant polyoxypropylene adduct, and aii) at least one difunctional and/or trifunctional polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene-polyol containing from 60 to 85 % by weight, based on the total weight of polymerised alkylene oxide units, of oxyethylene units, and having a hydroxyl number of from 20 to 80, and b) optionally low-molecular-weight chain extenders with c) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates, in the presence of d) catalysts, e) blowing agents, preferably water, and optionally f) assistants and/or additives, and to the polyoxyalkylene-polyol mixtures (a) which can be used for this purpose.

Abstract: Elastomers (I) with bound ester and urethane gps. contain on (I) 0.1-10% (all pts.wt.) of at least one phenylenebisoxazoline (II) of formula (A) and/or (B), where R1-R3 (same or different) are H, Ph or 1-5C alkyl. Also claimed is the prepn. of polyurethanes (III) contg. bound ester gps. by reacting (A) organic polyisocyanates with (B) higher molecular at least difunctional, polyesterols and (C) chain lengthening agents and/or crosslinking agents in presence of (D) a (II), opt. in presence of (E) blowing agents, (F) catalysts, (G) auxiliaries and/or additives. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as moulded articles, partic. in machinery construction and transport industries, esp. as flexible pipes, skins, sheets, spring elements, buffers and top coats; foams in furniture, household appts., shoe and motor car industries, e.g. in seats, insulating or cladding materials, sun blinds, head rests, shoe soles, ski cores and receptacles for skis. (I) and (III) have improved hydrolysis resistance and mechanical properties (partic. tensile strength, extension to break), (II) are soluble in starting materials or can be readily incorporated in (I) granulate, do not affect morphology of (I) or (III) and do not migrate.

    Coupling agent(s) for 2-component polyurethane adhesive(s) - comprise enamine(s), esp. 2-N-morpholinyl-cyclo:hex-1-ene, which are incorporated in poly:ol component

Abstract: Enamines of formula (I) are useful as coupling agents in 2-component polyurethane (PU) adhesives (II). In (I), R4, R5 = 1-8C alkyl, 7-13C aralkyl or 4-8C cycloalkyl, or the two gps. plus the N atom can form a 5-7 membered heterocycle; CnH2n = 3-12C alkylene with at least 3 directly linked C atoms. Pref. (I) is 1-(N-morpholinyl)-cyclohex-1-ene (IA). USE/ADVANTAGE - Coupling agents for 2-component PU adhesives, which can be incorporated into component 2 (i.e. the active H-contg. component based on polyhydric alcohols, etc.). Prior-art coupling agents are either only suitable for 1-component PU adhesives or have to be mixed with the polyisocyanate (component 1). The use of (I) gives improved adhesion on glass, metal, etc., together with improved mechanical properties.
