Abstract: Acyloxybenzenesulfonic acids and their alkali metal and alkaline earth metal salts are prepared by a process comprising sulfonation of a phenyl ester in the presence or absence of a small amount of a complexing agent for the sulfonating agent SO3 or chlorosulfonic acid, subsequent acylation and, if desired, neutralization to give the alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt, and, if required, subjecting the latter to oxidative bleaching before drying.

Abstract: New surfactant tri-aminopropylamino polyoxyalkylated cpds. have formula N(CH2CH2CH2NZ2)3 (I). In (I) Z is a random copolymer or block copolymer built up o m mol propylene oxide, n mol. ethylene oxide or p mol butylene oxide; where m = 0-50 (0-35); n = 1-100 (1-85) and p=0-35 (0-25); m and p are different and ratio C2H4O:C3H6O C4H8O = 1 : (0-10): (0-10)). (I) are used as tensides in cleansing agents and detergents. (I) are mainly colourless to yellow liquids and are partic. suitable for liquid compsns. contg. acid builders, e.g. citric acid. Presence of 4 active base centres renders (I) more strongly kryptocationactive (I) have good solubility in acid media. In examples, (I) were prepd. by mixing 1 mol. triaminopropylamine with 1-10 wt.% water and reacting with 6 mol C3H6O, for 3 hrs, 3-8 atmos. excess press. 100-110 degrees C. Prod. was dehydrated at 90-100 degrees C/15 mm Hg. Prod. +1-3 wt.% KOH was mixed and treated with C3H6O at 130-135 degrees C, followed by C2H4O at 120-125 degrees C.
