Abstract: Alcohol formaldehyde resin solution comprising (i) 45 - 79 wt. % formaldehyde, 20 - 54 wt. % 1 - 5C alkylalcohol and 1 - 35 wt. % water, is prepared by selective removal of water from an alcohol aqueous-formaldehyde solution, which comprises 20 - 65 wt. % formaldehyde, 15 - 60 wt. % 1 - 5C alkylalcohol and 20 - 65 wt. % water. A membrane selective process is used to remove the water.
