Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a light-waveform measuring apparatus which carriers out a low noise sample measurement. CONSTITUTION: After the intensity is modulated by a light-modulating means 140, the pulse light 101 to be measured is made incident on a light deflecting means 104 and swept for a prescribed duration. The intensity of the pulse light to be measured is lowered during the time except the sweeping time by modulation of the light-modulating means 140. Consequently, the intensity of the pulse light which is incident on a light detecting means 108 is lowered during the time except the sweeping time. Scarce light to be measured can be transmitted through a slit during the period except the sweeping time by sufficiently lowering the light to be measured during the time except sweeping time.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the title camera to measure a relative change of light intensity so as to improve the resolution of the camera by separating pulsed light into a light for probe and light for monitor, with the light ray for probe projected upon an object to be measured, and detecting the light used for scanning by non-parallely supplying the light from the object to be measured and light for monitor to an optical deflector after condensing the light to an image sensor. CONSTITUTION:A polarizer 102 linearly polarizes pulsed light PL and a half mirror 131 separates the light P1 into light P1 for probe and light P2 for monitor. The light P1 is made incident on a sample 301 after the light P1 is reflected by a mirror 132 and the light P1 transmitted through the sample 301 is superimposed upon the light P2 by means of the mirror 131. Of the light P1 and P2, only the light having a prescribed size is passed through an aperture 103 and made incident on an optical deflector 104. The light P1 and P2 made incident on the polarizer 104 are condensed through a Fourier transformation lens 105 and converge on an image sensor 106. The relative change of the light P1 against the light P2 can be detected even when the light P2 changes, because the changes of the components of the light P1 and P2 caused by absorption and scattering due to the sample 301 are fetched form the detecting signal of the sensor 106 by calculation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the phase modulation in a two-dimensional phase data of light at high speeds. CONSTITUTION:A modulating device 24 modulates the intensity of two-dimensional signals from heterodyne interferometers 8-14 with the timing corresponding to the time carrier frequency. In this case, the time phase difference at each changing point of the intensity of the two-dimensional signal generated from the heterodyne interferometer corresponds to the optical phase difference input to the heterodyne interferometer (e.g. the roughness etc., of a to-be- measured surface). In the intensity waveform at each point of the two-dimensional signals uniformly modulated by the modulating device, the position and the value of a peak of the intensity are changed due to the time phase difference at the point. Therefore, a two-dimensional signal obtained by integrating the intensity waveforms by a CCD 32 reflects the optical phase difference at each point of the two-dimensional phase data. The optical phase difference at each point of the phase data can be accordingly obtained based on the two-dimensional signals integrated in two dimension in parallel by the CCD.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a device to be simple and compact and achieve a highly accurate detection by detecting a rotary displacement from a grid structure which is provided at a movable member. CONSTITUTION:A movable member 2 is provided around a rotary axis 3 of a member whose displacement is to be detected 1 so that it can be rotated freely and a grid structure whose transmission rate or reflectivity changes periodically is provided at a band-shaped region in reference to the rotary axis 3. Also, light sources 4a and 5a emit light to first and second detection regions 2a and 2b corresponding to a partial region of a band-shaped region. Light-receiving means 4b and 5b detect first and second modulation lights which are modulated by each grid structure of the first and second detection regions 2a and 2b emitted from the light sources 4a and 5a. Then, a relative direction and amount of rotation of the movable member 2 for the member whose displacement is to be detected can be detected according to a strength change of the first and second modulation lights and its phase difference, thus enabling a device to be compact and achieving a highly accurate detection.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a displacement detector which is simply structured, compact and light-weighted to enable highly accurate displacement detection by providing a movable member rotatably provided around a rotation axis, a shift detecting means for detecting shift directions and a returning means for rotating a container in the shift direction. CONSTITUTION:A movable member 8 rotates together with fluid due to function from the fluid or its own inertia. At the time of operation of a displacement detector, if a member whose displacement is to be detected rotates and the member 8 has shifted from a reference position together with the fluid for example, shift detecting means 12a, 12b, 14a, 14b detect occurrence of the shift and directions of the shift. A returning means 2 immediately rotates a container 4 to follow a direction of the member 8 shift so that a relation between the container 4 and the member 8 is restored to an original state before the shift occurrence, that is, the reference position. Further a displacement detecting means detects a relative rotation amount of the container with respect to a displacement detecting member to detect displacement of the member whose displacement is to detected, that is, the displacement detector itself.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the displacement of a displacement-detecting device itself by constituting the device in such a way that when a movable member has been dislocated from its reference position, the displacement-detecting device detects the occurrence of this dislocation and the direction of this dislocation so that it can follow up the dislocation in the dislocated direction. CONSTITUTION:When a displacement-detecting device turns around an arbitrary axis being parallel to its axis 5, a vessel 4 does not turn with regard to an outer case 1, and a float 8 keeps its direction or position by its inertia. As a result, the float 8 turns relatively to the vessel 4 and the outer case 1. For instance, when the float 8 turns in the clockwise direction, the detecting light quantity of a photo-detector 14a increases, while that of a photo-detector 14b decreases. The outputs are monitored by a control circuit 16, and a servomotor 2 is turned on the basis of the differential output thereof. Thus, by driving the servomotor 2 to turn the vessel 4 in the direction the float 8 has been dislocated, the angular displacement can be detected.
