Abstract:
An instrument comprises a measured portion holding device (3) composed by using a negative image of a portion (10) to be measured. Therefore the variation of the measured value due to the uneven distribution of the component in the portion (10) is reduced, and the variation of the measured value due to the variation of the optical path length of the portion (10) caused by the variation of the shape of the portion (10) and to the variation of the blood flow volume caused by the variation of the contact pressure is reduced. Biological information or measurement parameters are recorded in a recording medium (11) worn on the measured portion holding device (3) dedicatedly used for an individual subject. As a result, biological information on the individual subject is prevented from being mistaken, thus realizing reproducible measurement.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the surface processing of a diamond substrate keeping the flatness of the processing surface. SOLUTION: Since the carbon atoms or molecules constituting a diamond substrate 12 are diffused into a carbon-absorbing material by heating and pressing, the surface of the diamond substrate 12 moves toward the carbon-absorbing material to effect the transfer of the pattern on the carbon-absorbing material to the surface of the diamond substrate. Since a molybdenum plate is placed opposite to the exposed area of the surface of the diamond substrate, the surface movement of the diamond substrate 12 beyond the depth of the plate is suppressed to enable the control of the thickness of the pattern in high accuracy.

PURPOSE:To easily and surely couple the living body tissue of a nerve cell, etc., by covering a conductive needle-like member with an insulating cover member, and providing an electric conduction part on the cover member. CONSTITUTION:In a state that an interval of a first electrode 11 and a second electrode 12 is large, a main body case 10 is subjected to moving operation in the direction as indicated with an arrow B. Subsequently, when Schwann cells of two pieces of nerve cells to be coupled are inserted and held by recessed parts 43 of cover members 42, a first electrode 11 and a second electrode 12 are brought close to each other by turning a micrometer 16 attached to the main body case 10. This operation is continued until two pieces of Schwann cells are bundled and brought into contact with each other between the respective recessed parts 43 of a first electrode 11 and a second electrode 12. Thereafter, by executing instantaneously turn-on/turn-off operations of a switch SW, a pulse voltage is applied between a first electrode 11 and a second electrode 12. In such a way, each Schwann cell is fused, but since a needle-like member 41 is obstructed by the cover member 42 and does not come into contact with the Schwann cell, the nerve cell is not flawed.

PURPOSE:To obtain a dye laser for an exciting excimer laser which can obtain plural sorts of dye laser by simple operation by a method wherein plural dye cells are provided to a rotating body and an arbitary cell is selected. CONSTITUTION:Arbitary surface of a rotating cylinder 90 can face to an excimer laser device 50 side rotating a pulse motor 96 and plural cylindrical dye cells 10 are fixed to prephery of the rotating cylinder 90. The container dye cell 10 is made of quartz glass and dye solution is housed thereinto, then several sorts of dye laser light can be obtained by selecting the dye cell 10. The laser light from the excimer laser device 50 is condensed linearly on the injecting face of the dye cell 10 of a cylindrical lens 40, and the dye laser light generates along slender excimer laser spot 60 comes to be more intensively by multiple reflecting between both edge of a reflecting mirror 20, 30, thus is taken out as dye laser light 70 passing through a transilluminating mirror 30.

PURPOSE:To provide an optical resonator which can enlarge the laser irradiation plane markedly to use a mirror extremely effectively, make a marked improvement in correction workability and a marked shortening of the working time, and satisfy demands of structural simplification. CONSTITUTION:The following are provided: a cylindrical projection 17 projected in communication with the hermetic container of a laser device; a cylindrical mirror holder 20 fitted rotatably into the projection 17; and a planar mirror 11 fitted into the mirror holder 20 to serve as the output window of the hermetic container. The laser irradiation plane of the planar mirror 11 irradiated with laser beams 10 in a hermetic state is biased from the center zone toward non- center zone.
