    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a light conductive plate having a scattering and reflecting part in one surface efficiently by providing grooves in one surface of light conductive material to form plural light conductive plate sections, and then providing scattering and reflecting parts in one surface inside the conductive plate sections at once. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 2 are provided in one surface of light conductive material 1 to form plural light conductive plate sections. The grooves 2 are provided for the purpose of parting the light conductive material 1 easily after forming scattering and reflecting parts 3. The scattering and reflecting parts 3 are then formed in one surface of the plural light conductive plate sections at once. The scattering and reflecting parts 3 are provided as gradation patterns comprising dots and strips for changing surface ratio properly in accordance with brightness change from a light beam source, so light incidental from the light beam source into the light conductive plate is distributed uniformly to be scattered and reflected to be radiated from a light emission surface of the light conductive plate. Finally, the light conductive material 1 is parted into each light conductive plate section, thereby plural light conductive plates having the scattering and reflecting parts 3 in one surface can be provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a U-shaped linear light source type surface light emission device whose luminance is high and whose power consumption is low by using a U-shaped linear light source as a linear light source and arranging a side reflection plate on one side surface of a light transmission plate where the U-shaped linear light source is not arranged. CONSTITUTION:The U-shaped linear light sources 2 are provided on three side surfaces of the light transmission plate 1. The side reflection plate 4 is formed on one side surface of the plate 1 where the light source 2 is not arranged. By arranging the light sources 2 extending over three side surfaces of the plate 1, light is introduced in the plate 1 from three side surfaces thereof. Therefore, the quantity of the light in the plate 1 is increased and the surface light emission whose luminance is high is obtained. Besides, since only one set of electrodes is required, the loss of the electric power of the electrodes is reduced and the power consumption becomes low in comparison with a case that three straight linear light sources are arranged. Moreover, since only one inverter for lighting is required, cost is reduced in comparison with the case that three straight linear light sources are arranged.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the process for production of the surface light emitting device constituted in such a manner that one sheet of reflection plate formed as a rear flank integrating type reflection plate is easily bendable at the boundary between a rear surface reflection part and a flank reflection part. CONSTITUTION:This process for production of the surface light emitting device consists in bending one sheet of the reflection plate 9, which has the rear surface reflection part 5 of a rectangular shape and the flank reflection part 6 of a rectangular strip shape adjacent to one side to be the side facing a light source afterward among the four sides of the above-mentioned reflection part and consists of 'E60 White Polyester(R)' produced by Toray Industries, Inc., perpendicularly at the boundary between the rear surface reflection part 5 and the flank reflection part 6 to form the rear flank integrating type reflection plate 4 and adhering this rear flank integrating type reflection plate 4 to a light transmission plate 1 consisting of an acrylic plate by an acrylic tacky adhesive 10, then building the assembly formed in such a manner into the surface light emitting device 11. Fine wire-shaped scores 8 of 30mm length are put in a straight line at the boundary between the rear surface reflection part 5 and the flank reflection part 6 by using Thomson dies exclusive of joint parts 7 of 0.3mm width which are made to remain six number before bending one sheet of the reflection part 9.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a transparent light conductive body having an optional solid shape by using a transfer sheet having a patternized light diffusing layer, and forming a transparent light conductive body and a light diffusing layer simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A transfer layer containing a patternized light diffusing layer 3 is formed on a transfer sheet 1. The base body sheet 2 side is sent in a molding metal mold 4 so as to be placed along the inwall surface of the metal mold 4. Next, it is positioned in a prescribed position so as to be sandwiched between the metal mold by means of a clamping system. Next, melted resin is injected into the clamped molding metal mold 4. Moldings of a transparent light conductive body having an optional solid shape is formed in this way, and at the same time, the transfer layer on the transfer sheet 1 is transferred onto the surface on the opposite side of the surface being its light emission surface, so that the light diffusing layer 3 can be formed in a prescribed pattern shape. After solidification is finished by means of cooling, a basic sheet 2 is separated from the moldings of the transparent light conductive body.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To equalize the illumination of the display surface of a plane light emitting device by superposing a light diffusion reflecting plate having a roughly uniform reflecting surface under a light diffusing plate, and also, placing a light shielding layer having an area distribution being roughly proportional to an illumination distribution between both of them. CONSTITUTION:On one face of such a light diffusing plate 1 as a milk-white methacrylic resin plate of 1mm thick, a gradation-like light shielding layer 2 is formed by a screen printing method by using black-and-white screen ink. A gradation pattern is designed so as to form a printing film having such an area distribution as is proportional to an illumination distribution on its surface at the time when a light diffusion reflecting plate 3 of the same resin plate is placed on a face light emitting device to which a cold cathode ray tube 5 is attached. In such a state, by placing the layer 2 on the lower side so that the maximum part of photoabsorptivity of the layer 2 comes to the highest illuminance part on the reflecting plate 3 being right above a light source 5, and superposing and placing the diffusing plate 1, the face light emission on the surface of a panel 4 can be equalized.
