    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a surface light-emitting device without the gradation pattern formed on the rear of a light-transmitting plate appearing on the picture even if the plate is made thin, having an easily visible picture and enhanced in the surface light-emitting luminance. CONSTITUTION:A line light source 2 is arranged on the side face of the transparent light-transmitting plate 1 having a light diffusing and transmitting part 3 on its rear to constitute the surface light-emitting device. A light diffusing sheet 7 on the light-transmitting plat side which is made of a polyethylene terephthalate film and of which both sides are coated with a light diffusing substance, is arranged on the surface of the light-transmitting plate, and a light diffusing sheet 8 on the picture side made of a polycarbonate film and having the upper surface of stain-finished pattern is arranged on the sheet 7.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the surface light emitting device which corrects the unequal brightness on the surface of a light transmission plate near a linear light source heretofore generated by the darkness at both ends of the linear light source, is small in the size of the device and can emit light uniformly on the surface of the light transmission plate. CONSTITUTION:The linear light source 2 is disposed on one flank of the light transmission plate 1 and the flank reflection plate 4 or the linear light source 2 is disposed on the other flank opposite thereto. A light diffusion and transmission part is formed on the rear surface of the light transmission plate 1 in the following manner: The area rate from the central part of the light transmission plate 1 up to the point where the brightness of the linear light source 2 begins to fall and an arc around the angle part of the light transmission plate 1 as the inner side is drawn is constant in the direction parallel with the pipe axis of the linear light source 2 near the linear light source 2 and the area ratio from the point where the brightness of the linear light source 2 begins to fall up to the end of the light transmission plate 1 increases parabolically.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a possibility of dissolving a surface diffusion sheet and rear surface reflection sheet and to enable easy production of intricate adhesive patterns as well so as to shorten stages by printing sheets to be stuck to a light transmission plate with tacky adhesives and sticking these sheets to the light transmission plate. CONSTITUTION:A ray source 7 is arranged on the flank of the light transmission plate 1. The front surface diffusion sheet 3 is arranged on the front side of the light transmission plate 1 and the rear surface reflection sheet 4 is arranged on the rear surface of the light transmission plate 1. A flank reflection sheet 5 is formed on the other flank of the light transmission plate 1 facing the ray source 7. These sheets 3 to 5 are first printed with the tacky adhesives 6 in order to fix the sheets 3 to 5 to the light transmission plate 1 by the tacky adhesives 6. A separator is then stuck to the light transmission plate and outside shape blanking is executed. The outside shape blanking is executed to process the sheets 3 to 5 to the same size as the size of the light transmission plate 1 by a method, such as pressing. Finally, the separator is peeled and the sheets 3 to 5 are stuck to the light transmission plate 1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a surface light emitting device whose luminance near a punch or a notch is not lowered and by which uniform surface light emission can be obtained. CONSTITUTION:A light transmission plate 1 obtained by providing the punch 4 whose diameter is 4mm near the central part of a linear light source 3 on an acrylic plate having such outside dimension that length is 200mm, width is 150mm and thickness is 2mm is used. Then, light diffusion and transmission parts 2 having area ratio which is foundamentally in inverse proportion to a distance from the light source 3 and gradually increased toward the punch 4 in the neighborhood (A) of the punch 4 are formed on the back surface of the plate 1 by screen printing by using mat ink.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the process for production of the surface light emitting device constituted in such a manner that one sheet of reflection plate formed as a rear flank integrating type reflection plate is easily bendable at the boundary between a rear surface reflection part and a flank reflection part. CONSTITUTION:This process for production of the surface light emitting device consists in bending one sheet of the reflection plate 9, which has the rear surface reflection part 5 of a rectangular shape and the flank reflection part 6 of a rectangular strip shape adjacent to one side to be the side facing a light source afterward among the four sides of the above-mentioned reflection part and consists of 'E60 White Polyester(R)' produced by Toray Industries, Inc., perpendicularly at the boundary between the rear surface reflection part 5 and the flank reflection part 6 to form the rear flank integrating type reflection plate 4 and adhering this rear flank integrating type reflection plate 4 to a light transmission plate 1 consisting of an acrylic plate by an acrylic tacky adhesive 10, then building the assembly formed in such a manner into the surface light emitting device 11. Fine wire-shaped scores 8 of 30mm length are put in a straight line at the boundary between the rear surface reflection part 5 and the flank reflection part 6 by using Thomson dies exclusive of joint parts 7 of 0.3mm width which are made to remain six number before bending one sheet of the reflection part 9.
