    Abstract: The invention concerns a loudspeaker having an elongate parallelepiped hollow body, whereof one longitudinal surface is made up of a stretched elongate rectangular planar diaphragm. The diaphragm is suspended by its edges to the body adjacent side surfaces, and is integral with an elongate rigid inner part extending in the body longitudinal direction, and bearing a mobile electromagnetic coil, parallel to the diaphragm. The coil is arranged between two fixed magnets located along the body two longitudinal side surfaces which form, with the base of said body, polar parts. Said loudspeaker is useful as component of an active anti-noise system, associated with a double glazing.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an acoustic insulating glazing unit.This glazing unit comprises two glass sheets (12, 14) joined together around their periphery by means of an assembly (16) forming a seal (163) and an insert frame (161) which defines, with the two glass sheets, a flat cavity filled with a gas, and a waveguide fastened between the glass sheets, internal to the insert frame. The waveguide consists of at least one straight tubular section (20, 22, 24, 26) placed on the periphery of the gas-filled cavity along one side of the glazing unit, this section being provided with a transverse partition (28) which closes the latter in its length direction, the said partition being placed at a length position along the section which depends on the acoustic mode of the cavity that it is desired to disorganize, this partition defining, on either side of it, two chambers (30, 31) which communicate with the cavity through the ends of the sections.

    Abstract: A laminated window (1) comprises two sheets of glass (10, 11) and an interpolated sheet (12) of a material adequate for acoustic insulation. The interpolated sheet has an adequate thickness (e) to satisfy the criterion of minimal strength. The thickness (e) of the interpolated sheet is at least equal to erefasteriskJref/Jc (claimed) where: (a) Jc is the critical energising value and representative of the energy needed for the propagation of a fissure initialised in the interpolated sheet; (b) Jref is the reference critical energising value corresponding to that of a film of polyvinylbutyral (PVB) and equal to 35,100 J/m2 for a temperature of 20degreesC and for a tearing speed of 100 mm/min; (c) eref is the reference thickness that correspond to this PVB film and is equal to 0.38 mm.

    Abstract: Window (9), fitted with fixed peripheral seal, has its edge (7) modified locally, e.g. by a buckling (11) of about 1 mm or by attaching a plastic or enamel projection of similar thickness to reduce noise radiation caused by acoustic field. Surrounding seal is similarly modified, and movement of the glass in the seal is diminished. Window glass has at least one edge distortion or increase in thickness, and the seal has at least one clip or hook in contact with the glass.

    Abstract: In laminated glazing used for acoustic insulation and comprising two or more rigid transparent sheets and one or more insulating and/or strengthening plastic films, the novelty is that the plastic film is associated with a film having ordinary acoustic quality, i.e. (a) when this film is 2 mm. thick and is assembled with two 4 mm. thick glass sheets to form a laminated slab of 9 cm. length and 3 cm. width and subjected to impact, the primary mode resonance frequency (fc) differs by more than 35% from that of a 4 mm. thick monolithic glass slab of the same length and width; or (b) when the film is max. 1 mm. thick and is assembled with two 2.1 mm. thick glass sheets to form a laminated plate, the measured acoustic attenuation index deviates, for frequencies greater than 800 Hz, by more than 6 dB from a reference index increasing from 9 dB per octave up to 2000Hz and by more than 3 dB per octave at higher frequencies. Also claimed is a film for insertion in laminated glazing to provide insulating and/or strengthening properties, the film being associated with a film having ordinary acoustic quality as described above. Pref. the film having ordinary acoustic quality is a standard polyvinylbutyral film and is separated from the insulating and/or strengthening plastic film by an impervious thin film pref. based on polyethylene terephthalate.

    Abstract: An acoustic window intended for land transport vehicles is proposed. Its index of acoustic attenuation differs by no more than 5dB from an index increasing by 3dB per octave from 800 to 2000 Hz, and by 1 dB per octave above this range. The examples are doubled-glazed windows or laminated windows in which the intermediate layer has a high attenuation. It is effective with respect to aerodynamic noise.
