    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element having high luminance and emitting stable red light by including a distyryl compound serving as an organic light-emitting material in an organic layer arranged between a positive electrode and a negative electrode and provided with a light-emitting area. SOLUTION: An organic layer of an organic electric field light-emitting element includes at least one of distyryl compounds represented by formula I. For example, a compound represented by formula III is used. These illustrated compounds have both of electron transport performance and hole transport performance, so that the organic layer can be used as a light-emitting layer which serves as an electron carrying layer or a light-emitting layer serving as a hole transport layer in the element structure. In the formula, R1 and R2 are represent groups in the formula II (R4-R8 are each a hydrogen group, an alkoxyl group, an alkyl group, an amino group, an alkylamino group); R3 is a hydrogen group, an alkoxyl group, an alkyl group, an amino group, an alkylamino group, or an aryl group; X is an aryl group or a hydrocarbon group.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stable yellow color to orange color luminescence with high brightness by including a distyryl compound as an organic luminescent material in an organic layer arranged between an anode and a cathode. SOLUTION: An organic layer having a luminescent region is arranged between an anode and a cathode. A distyryl compound represented by formula I is included as an organic luminescent material in the organic layer. In formula I, R1, R4 are the same or different group, and an aryl group represented by formula II. In formula II, R9-R13 are the same or different group, are a hydrogen atom or at least one of them is a saturated or unsaturated alkoxy group or alkyl group. In formula I, R2, R3 are the same or different group, and an aryl group represented by formula III. In formula III, R14-R20 are the same or different group, are a hydrogen atom or at least one of them is a saturated or unsaturated alkoxy group or alkyl group. In formula I, R5-R8 are the same of different group, and at least one of them is a cyano group, a nitro group, or a halogen atom.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element with its superior electron transport performance and durability by providing a structure in which an organic electroluminescent layer containing an electron transport layer is sandwiched between an anode and a cathode and further having an electron injection layer. SOLUTION: A substrate 1 is made of a transparent material such as glass, and an anode 2 is made of a translucent material such as ITO or Au thin film. 3 is an organic electrolytic luminous layer. An organic electrolytic luminous element is provided with an electron injection layer 9 between a cathode 4 and an electron transport layer 8, therefore, contact intimacy is improved at a boundary between the cathode 4 and the electron transport layer 8. The electron injection layer 9 prevents scattering of oxygen or adsorptive water or the like from the cathode 4 during element heating and prevents degradation of the electron transport material. Since the electron injection layer 9 controls boundary state between the cathode 4 and the electron transport layer 8, the film thickness thereof is sufficient to be 10nm or less. It is preferable that the electron injection layer 9 has at least one kind of porphyrin derivative. Thereby, a flat panel display with its high brightness and durability is provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the tertiary nonlinear optical characteristic by forming an org. nonlinear optical material film to be laminated on a substrate with a laminated film of plural monomolecular layers contg. a specified cyanine dye. CONSTITUTION:An org. nonlinear optical material film to be laminated on a substrate is formed with a laminated film of plural monomolecular layers contg. a cyanine dye shown by the formula. Such an org. nonlinear optical material film is formed by the Langmuir-Blodgett's technique (LB technique) so that the cyanine dye molecules in the film are associated. A glass or quartz substrate is used as the substrate, the substrate surface is made hydrophobic with a silane coupling agent, and then the film is laminated. Since the substrate surface is hydrophobic, the lamination is started when the substrate is lowered. Accordingly, the substrate is raised and lowered at the speed of 3 to 10-mm/min to form the thin film.

CONSTITUTION:The wavelength conversion element formed with a light propagating part as an optical wavelength shape is constituted by disposing a nonlinear optical material unified in the code of the nonlinear optical sensitivity in a prescribed direction-and a nonlinear optical material inverted or changed with the code of the nonlinear optical sensitivity on a substrate 1 to form an active layer 2. A clad layer 3 consisting of an org. material having the refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the substrate 1 is laminated on the active layer 2, by which the wavelength conversion element is constituted.
