    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce surface-treated inorg. fine particles which have a coupling agent, as the surface modifier, efficiently attached to their surfaces and hydrolyzable enough by treating the surfaces of inorg. fine particles with a mixed soln. essentially contg. a coupling agent, water, and an org. solvent and separating and recovering the particles. SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt. at least one kind of inorg. fine particles (A) selected from among fine particles of silicon, titanium, aluminum, zirconium, antimony, tin, and tungsten is subjected to surface treatment with a mixed soln. essentially contg. 1-300 pts.wt. coupling agent (B) (pref. a silane coupling agent or a silylating agent having a 4C or higher hydrocarbon group), water (C) in an amt. of 0.1-100 mol per mol of ingredient B, and 200-2,000 pts.wt. org. solvent (D) at room temp. to 130 deg.C. The particles after the treatment are separated and recovered from the soln. by distilling out water and the solvent or by a solid-liq. separation method.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain inorganic microfine particles with reduced malfunction due to condensed substance by treating inorganic particles with a surface modifier, heating them in an organic solvent and separating them into solid and liquid phases. SOLUTION: Inorganic particles, which comprises oxides of at least one kind of metal selected from among silicon, titanium, aluminum, zirconium and antimony and have particle sizes of 5 nm-50 μm are dipped in an aqueous solution surface treatment agent selected from among a silane coupling agent, a silylation agent, a titanium coupling agent, and an aqueous solution of a surface treatment agent selected from among an organometal compound as alkyl lithium or alkyl aluminum to effect surface treatment. The surface-treated inorganic particles are heat-treated in an organic solvent as an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, a ketone solvent, an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, a fluorine- containing organic solvent at a temperature high than the room temperature, preferably at a temp. of 50-250 deg.C, more preferably at a temp. of 50-200 deg.C, then they are separated into the solid phase and the liquid phase thereby giving the objective surface-modified inorganic particles showing less than 2 wt.% weight loss, when they are heated to 30-400 deg.C.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating film composition, capable of making hydrophobic fine particles strongly sticking thereto, excellent in durability and having ultrahigh high water repellency. SOLUTION: This coating film comprises hydrophobic treated inorganic fine particles and a hydrophobic polymer containing a polyvinylidene fluoride- based polymer and contains at least 2 wt.% polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer in the film. Unevennesses having 0.5-50 μm difference in height between protruding parts and recessed parts and 0.5-50 μm interval between the adjacent protruding parts are preferably formed on the surface and a water repellent film having >155 deg. static contact angle of water with the film surface is especially useful. Since waterdrops are rolled or the frictional resistance with water is reduced, the film can be utilized as an icing preventing coating film such as an antenna, a roof or a steel tower, a coating film for ship bottoms, a coating film for glass such as an automobile, a railway train or aircraft.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a molded article of fluorine resin useful in fields of water treatment or purification of drug, etc., having excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, shape-enduing property, ion-exchange property, adsorbing property and separating property comprising fluorine resin having aromatic compound in side chain through ether bonding. CONSTITUTION:(A) At least one compound expressed by formula I to formula V (Rf is fluoroalkyl group) and vinyl-based fluorine resin containing CH2 (preferably polyvinylidene fluoride, etc.) are molded to any shape (preferably porous membrane) from molten or solution state and subjected to reaction treatment in the presence of aromatic alkyl alcohol and basic compound to afford a molded article of fluorine resin having aromatic compound in side chain through ether bonding. Otherwise, (B) cation-exchange group (e.g., sulfonic acid group), anion-exchange group, chelateexchange group or crown ether group is further introduced into aromatic compound in the side chain of the composition A to afford the second aimed molded article of fluorine resin.
