    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester having a quality comparable or superior to that of conventional polyester while shortening the polymerization time by supplying and passing a polyester in molten state through a vertical stirring thinfilm evaporator. SOLUTION: A polyester or its oligomer is supplied to and passed through a vertical stirring thin-film evaporator in molten state to increase the polymerization degree of the polyester. Preferably, the polyester or its oligomer has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.3-1.0 before passing through the evaporator, the intrinsic viscosity of the polyester after passing through the evaporator is higher than that of the polyester before passing by >=0.1, the reaction is carried out under a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure or in an inert gas flow and the polyester is a polymer selected from among polybutylene terephthalate, polycyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin composition excellent in rigidity, impact resistance, particularly appearance of its molding by improving insufficient points of a conventional polyester. SOLUTION: A polyester resin composition comprises to (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester; (B) 0.1-40 pts.wt. of a phyllosilicate wherein an exchangeable cation existing between layers is exchanged with an organic onium ion; and (C) 0.001-5 pts.wt. of at least one of a montanic acid compound and a lower molecular weight polyolefin. The composition is (A) a polybutylene terephthalate (co)polymer of a thermoplastic polyester wherein the terminal group of COOH is preferably not more than 50 eq/t and the intrinsic viscosity is 0.36-1.60.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition together having good rigidity, impact resistance and flowability in good balance without deteriorating the excellent original characteristics of a polyester-based resin and thereby suitable for connectors. SOLUTION: This resin composition for connectors comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyester-based resin, (B) 0.1-80 pts.wt. of a polyester-based block copolymer comprising (b1) a polyester segment and (b2) a polyolefin-based polymer segment, and (C) 0.1-80 pts.wt. of a polyolefin. The polyolefin-based polymer segment b2 of the polyester-based block copolymer B is a block copolymer comprising a hydrogenated or non-hydrogenated aromatic vinyl and a conjugated diene, and is formed from a polyolefin having functional groups at the molecular terminals. The polyolefin C is formed from ethylene homopolymer or an ethylene copolymer with a 3-20C α-olefin.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin compsn. which is excellent in embossability, heat resistance, durability, and mechanical strengths and is suitable for cards such as magnetic cards or IC cards by compounding an amorphous polyester, an arom. polycarbonate, and a specific vinyl polymer. SOLUTION: The vinyl polymeris a (co)polymer formed from at least one vinyl monomer of formula I (wherein R1 is H or a lower alkyl; and R2 is phenyl, cyano, or an alkyl ester group having a 1-10C alkyl). A glycidyl-ester-group- contg. polymer formed by copolymerizing 99.95 wt.% at least one vinyl monomer of formula I and 0.05-60 wt.% at least one glycidyl-ester-group-contg. vinyl monomer of formula II (wherein R3 is H or a lower alkyl) can also be pref. used. Pref., the compsn. contains 2-25 pts.wt. inorg. platy filler having an average particle size of 0.5-20 μm, based on 100 pts.wt. sum of above polymers.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which is excellent in moldability and can give a molding excellent in flame retardancy and mechanical properties, especially, a thin-wall molding excellent in toughness and heat resistance by mixing a thermoplastic resin with a thermoplastic resin containing phosphor-containing units in a specified ratio.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the warpage of a card due to embossing by a method wherein a lamination form, the density distribution to the direction of the thickness of inorganic flake-like filler satisfies the formulae I and II is taken. SOLUTION: In order to form a single layer sheet, a plurality of which compose a multilayer sheet, the loaidngs of an inorganic flake-like filler, the particle form of which is nonisotropic three-dimensionally and has a biaxial orientational property, is preferably 2-25 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of 1 or 2 or more of thermoplastic resins selected from the group consisting of an amorphous polyester and an aromatic polycarbonate. In the multilayer sheet produced by laminating at least these two or three or more single layer sheets, when let the thickness of the multilayer sheet be 2L, the X-axis be in the direction of the thickness, the origin of the X-axis be the center of the multilayer sheet, the density of the inorganic flake-like filler at X be C(X), the single layer sheets are laminated in the form of the multilayer sheet, in which the resultant density distribution of the inorganic flake-like filler in the direction of the thickness satisfy the formulae I and II. In other words, the density distribution of the inorganic flake-like filler in the direction of the thickness is formed through such as laminating fashion that the density in the outer layer is made higher than that in the inner layer, resulting in remarkably improving the embossing characteristics of the multilayer sheet.

SOLUTION: This resin composition is obtained by melt-mixing 5-150 pts.wt. non-fibrous inorganic filler having 0.05-10 μm means particle diameter and/or fibrous inorganic filler having 0.05-10 μm fiber diameter other than the glass fiber and 0.05-10 pts.wt. olefinic compound having carboxylic acid anhydride group in its molecule or a polymer of the olefinic compound, based on 100 pts.wt. nylon resin.
