A power liftgate drive assembly automatically moves the liftgate of a vehicle between its open and closed positions. The drive assembly is secured to the vehicle at a position near the top of the liftgate. The drive assembly includes a motor that drives a sector gear between two positions. A guide rod is secured to the sector gear to translate the rotational movement of the sector gear into the pivotal movement of the ligtgate. A slot extends through the sector gear that allows the liftgate to be moved manually. A latch locks the guide rod in position with respect to the sector gear for automated movement whereas the latch releases the guide rod to move in the slot for manual operation.

The present invention relates to a hinge arrangement for an oven hatch, wherein a hatch arrangement comprises a hatch door part manufactured as a casting, an immuration or masonry frame as well as a hinge structure functioning between said parts. A body part (15) and a pin part (14) of the hinge constitute a separate hinge element (4a) comprising at least two mutually pivotable portions, which portions by means of adjoining surfaces (6, 6a, 6b) connect to corresponding adjoining surfaces formed in the respective pieces to be connected. The present invention also relates to a method for interconnecting oven hatch parts manufactured as castings, by means of a hinge element (4a) comprising mutually pivotable parts. Mutually essentially congruent adjoining surfaces (6, 6a, 6b) are formed in said hinge element (4a) and said castings, respectively, and said mutually pivotable parts of said hinge element (4a) are attached to respective oven hatch parts (2, 3, 8) by means of transverse elements (11) extending therethrough.

A hydraulic closure system and method is disclosed for a motor vehicle (10) that enables automatic opening and closing, as well as manual closing, of a closure (16) pivotally mounted to an opening frame (14) defining a closure opening in the motor vehicle. The system includes at least one hydraulic actuator assembly (20) attached at opposite ends thereof to the closure (16) and the opening frame (14), respectively. A motorized hydraulic pump (32) inputs energy to the actuator (20) by creating hydraulic fluid flow with respect to the actuator to move the closure (16) from the opened position to the closed position, and a biased energy storage system (140) inputs energy to the actuator (20) to move the closure (16) from the closed position to the opened position. In a preferred embodiment, the pump (32) is activated by manually generated movement of the closure (16) from the opened position toward the closed position for a prescribed distance in more than a prescribed time. Also disclosed is an obstacle detection mechanism (110) which detects obstacles interfering with closing of the closure based on monitored pressure in the system caused by the pump created fluid flow. A level detection (210) and compensation feature adjusts the amount of energy stored in the biased energy storage system (140) for opening the closure (16) based on the detected inclination or declination of the vehicle (10) so that the amount of energy stored is commensurate with the amount required to open the closure (16). An energy monitoring and control system (156) maintains the amount of energy stored in the biased energy storage system (140) for opening the closure (16) within a predetermined range.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stay for opening and closing a door in which an opening/closing force transmitted to the door when opening and closing the door is freely controllable.SOLUTION: An inventive stay for opening and closing a door has: a main body 15 mounted to a housing 11; an arm 14 having one end rotatably connected to the main body 15; a main body slider 24 slidably provided on the main body and energized by an elastic body in one direction; and a link 23 rotatably connected to the arm 14 and the main body slider 24. Al least two fulcrums of rotation of the link 23 relative to the main body slider 24 or the arm 14 are provided, and rotation of the link 23 causes switching between the state in which one pin P4 is the fulcrum of rotation of the link 23 relative to the main body slider 24 or the arm 14 and the state in which the other pin P3 is the fulcrum of rotation of the link 23 relative to the main body slider 24 or the arm 14.

PURPOSE:To prevent a door arm from being a hindrance to an object to be heated when it is placed in and taken out from a heating chamber, resulting in improvement of handling ability, by a method wherein, under condition in which a door is opened to its fullest capacity, the protruding size of each of the door arms located at both sides of a door is equal to or less than the thickness of the door or that of a sash located in the vicinity thereof. CONSTITUTION:A door arm 19, controlling the opening angle of a door 4, is sized such that, under condition in which the door 4 is opened to its fullest capacity, the size of the door arm protruding ahead of a body 1 is equal to or less than the thickness of the door 4 or that of a sash 23 in the vicinity of the door 4. With a handle 13 of the door 4 pulled ahead of the body 1, the door is opened about a hinge 27, serving as a fulcrum, whereto the hinge supporter of a choke channel part 11 and a hinge arm 18 are rotatably mounted, and the other end 21 of each of the door arm 19 located at both sides of the door 4 engages with a bent part 22 at the upper end of a hinge part 15 under condition, in which the door 4 is opened to its fullest capacity, to maintain the opening state of the door 4. When the door 4 is closed, the door can be smoothly closed by a spring 25 which energizes the other end 21 of the door arm 19 toward the rear of the body 1.
