Digital image data can be edited easily to reflect a preference or an intention of a user. Sizes of free spaces and used spaces of recording media of different types are read and displayed on a display device by using the same scale for the same sizes. By enabling the user to visually confirm the sizes in this manner, the digital image data sets can be edited.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein tragbares Bildsignalbearbeitungsgerät, welches einen oder mehrere Datenträgereinführschlitze, eine Identifikationseinheit zur Identifizierung des Datenformats der von einem Datenträger gelesenen Bildsignaldaten und eine Signalbearbeitungseinheit zur Bearbeitung der gelesenen Bildsignaldaten aufweist. Die bearbeiteten Bildsignaldaten werden entweder auf einem geräteinternen Display oder auf einem externen Display dargestellt. Die bearbeiteten Bildsignaldaten sind vorzugsweise in Pixelform vorliegende digitale Bildsignaldaten, die mittels einer Digitalkamera aufgezeichnet wurden.

The present invention provides an image communication system which transfers image data in a type optimal to a transmitting and a receiving end and a communication control method for the system. A CPU (36) of a digital camera (2) receives receiving-end data type information from a printer (3), compares this receiving-end data type information (receivable data type name and its priority data) with data in a "converted data type" column of a data-type conversion table (34a) developed in a RAM (34) to select a data type having the highest priority from among data types convertible (transmittable) by the camera (2) and receivable by the printer (3), and sets this data type as that of image data to be transmitted. The CPU (36) then reads out a corresponding data-type conversion program from a ROM (33), converts to the set data type the type of image data to be transmitted, and then transmits this image data to the printer (3).

A digital camera includes a button to renew a displayed image. If an operator depresses the renewing button for 2 seconds or longer, then a continuous reproducing mode is set. If a finger is released from the renewing button, the mode is switched from the continuous reproducing mode to a normal reproducing mode. A CPU, in the continuous reproducing mode, expands thumbnail image data and magnifies the expanded data to display the thumbnail images on an LCD. In the normal reproducing mode, on the other hand, original image data is expanded, and an expanded original image is displayed on the LCD. That is, the thumbnail images are reproduced in a continuous manner during depression of a reproducing button by the operator, while the thumbnail image is turned into an original image if the operator releases his finger from the reproducing button.

An image forming apparatus (1) includes an image reading portion (13), an image processing portion (14), a storage portion (15,16), a storage selector portion (17), an image forming portion (18), and a control portion (10). The storage portion (15,16) includes a first storage portion (15) and a second storage portion (16) with greater vibration resistance than the first storage portion (15), and stores image data scanned by the image reading portion (13) and processed by the image processing portion (14). The storage selector portion (17) selects one of the first storage portion (15) and the second storage portion (16) based on the strength of mechanical vibrations during an operation of the apparatus (1), and a data size of the image data. The control portion (10) causes the image data to be stored in the storage portion (15,16) selected by the storage selector portion (17), and controls the image forming portion (18) to read the stored image data and form an image.

Embodiments of the present invention provide an information processing apparatus (11) having a plurality of recording media (59,91). The information processing apparatus (11) includes an imaging unit (51) for capturing an image of a subject and a recording unit (59) for recording image data of the image captured by the imaging unit (51) onto the recording media (59,91) such that the amounts of recorded image data differ between the recording media (59,91). According to the present invention, the same image data is recorded onto at least a first recording medium (59) built in the apparatus and a second recording medium (91) removable from the apparatus (11) such that the amount of data recorded on the first medium (59) is smaller than that on the second medium (91). In this information processing apparatus, a user can view images captured previously with more ease because image data recorded on the first recording medium (59) is sorted by date and is provided to the user in this state.
Abstract:
An image photographing apparatus has a first image photographing device unit and a second image photographing device unit. The image photographing apparatus also has a function of a camcorder provided by the first image photographing device unit, and a function of a digital camera provided by the second image photographing device unit, and wherein a portion of the first and second image photographing device units is protruded at a front of the main body of the apparatus. A fixed or popup flash can be further provided and is mounted to an upper side or a flank side of the main body to avoid the shading of the light by the first image photographing device unit.
