    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase a port area for intake and exhaust which occupies a cylinder head and improve engine power by forming an intake/exhaust head valve used for both intake and exhaust, and connecting an intake pipe and an exhaust pipe with an intake/exhaust port. CONSTITUTION:More than one intake/exhaust head valve 12 which is used for intake and exhaust is formed at a cylinder head 11 in an internal combustion engine 10. An intake/exhaust port 13 which is opened and closed by the intake/ exhaust head valve 12 is connected with an intake pine 15 which is opened and closed by an intake valve 14 and an exhaust, pipe 17 which is opened and closed by an exhaust valve 16. When the intake/exhaust port 13 is opened, the exhaust stroke and the intake stroke are changed over by the intake valve 14 and exhaust valve 16. It is thus possible to increase a port area for intake and exhaust which occupies the cylinder head 11 and improve the engine power.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To extend filling volume of a cylinder by constituting a double-flow valve with a body with a large head and a circular cavity in the interior, and a seat zone of the shape of a cone with its header cut. CONSTITUTION: When a camshaft 14 is rotated and two cams 15, 16 are actuated simultaneously, a valve is pressurized. At that time the valve is displaced to open a passage via an outer side portion turned to either the suction or the discharge direction. As the double-flow valve occupies a large surface area in a combustion chamber at that time, a great amount of gas flow is permitted by the outer side portion. When explosion takes place and passage through outer side is necessary, an inner side valve 3 is actuated and driven by a cam 17. The valve 3 is displaced to open an internal passage greatly for discharging the gas.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the structure around a valve by opening/closing a single port opened to a combustion chamber with a poppet valve and switching and communicating intake/discharge passages to the said port with the bulged section of a valve stem. CONSTITUTION:A port 9 opened to a combustion chamber 7 via a single opening is formed, and a discharge passage 11 and an intake passage 10 are opened at the upper section and lower section of this port 9 respectively. A check valve 14 is provided on the discharge passage 11, and a side passage 12 is formed on the port 9. This opening is controlled to be opened/closed by a poppet valve 8A, and the intake passage 10 and discharge passage 11 opened to the port 9 are controlled to be opened/closed by a bulged section 8B formed on a valve stem. The poppet valve 8A is opened at a suction stroke, the discharge passage 11 is closed by the bulged section 8B, and air is sucked from the intake passage 10 through the side passage 12. The intake passage 10 is closed by the bulged section 8B at a discharge stroke.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the flowout efficiency of combustion gas with a simple construction by constituting an exhaust valve from a main exhaust valve provided with a combustion gas path and an auxiliary exhaust valve inserted relatively slidably in the main exhuast valve to open and close the combustion path. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary exhaust valve 2 is relatively slidably inserted in a main exhaust valve 1 formed with a combustion gas path 3 for affording communication between the bevelled surface and end face of the valve. Thus, when the valve is closed, the auxiliary and main exhaust valves 2, 1 abut respectively against a valve seat 1a of the main exhaust valve 1 and a valve seat 4 to interrupt the flow of gas. On the other hand when the valve is opened, the respective main and auxiliary exhaust valves 1, 2 are both opened. As the opening area of the valve is increased, a gas outlet is also produced near the center of the main exhaust valve 1 so that the efficiency of flowout of combustion gas is improved. Thus, the efficiency of scavenging is improved and the rate of fuel consumption can be reduced.
