Abstract: The present invention relates to a use of AtBG1 {Arabidopsis thaliana &bgr;-glucosidase 1) gene and a transgenic plan with the AtBG1 gene insertion, more precisely, a use of AtBG1 gene for the generation of a transgenic plant having resistance to various environmental stresses by increasing the level of abscisic acid (ABA), a kind of plant hormone, and a transgenic plant having stress-resistance with the AtBG1 gene insertion. Plants have enhanced resistance against various environmental stresses including low temperature, salt damage and dehydration owing to the increased level of ABA. Thus, the method to increase the level of ABA can greatly contribute to the enhancement of agricultural production.

Abstract: A star-shaped polymer having an alkoxy silane end group and containing an ether group at the center thereof, which is represented by formula (I), is useful as a pore introducer to obtain a low dielectric silicate polymer film having nano-pores distributed regularly and evenly. The star-shaped polymer is prepared by comprising conducting a ring open polymerization of a cyclic monomer and a polyhydric alcohol, and reacting the resulting polymer with an alkoxy silane compound.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a bioadhesive derived from mussel. In particular, it relates to a novel Mytilus galloprovincialis foot protein type 5 (MGFP-5) and a recombinant protein that is a hybrid of MGFP-5 and foot protein type 1 (FP-1), where an adhesive protein with adhesive activity can be economically mass-produced to be used in place of chemical adhesives through the present invention.
