Abstract: 본 발명은 터치스크린 기반의 휴대 단말기에서 터치 입력을 통해 문자를 입력하는 방법과 이를 지원하는 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 문자 입력 방법은 문자 입력 창에 사용자에 의해 입력된 문자들을 표시하는 표시 단계; 상기 표시된 문자들 중 적어도 하나의 문자의 선택을 입력받는 문자 선택 단계; 상기 문자 입력 창 중 일정 영역의 선택을 입력받는 영역 선택 단계; 및 상기 선택된 적어도 하나의 문자를 상기 선택된 일정 영역으로 이동시켜 표시하는 변경 표시 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명을 통해 사용자는 이미 입력된 문자를 활용하여 편리하게 문자를 입력할 수 있다.

Abstract: An information searching method of a communication terminal is provided to enable a user of the terminal to search information quickly through a web server by performing a simple procedure when using a search service provided from the web server, thereby shortening a time for searching the information. When key data is generated in idle mode, numbers allocated to keys are displayed on a certain area(211-219). Text data allocated to the same keys as the displayed numbers is displayed on an area different from the area where the numbers are displayed(221). If a search service is requested, the displayed text data is transmitted to a set web server as a search word(223-237). Information corresponding to the search word is received from the web server(239). The received information is displayed(241).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for downloading data in a mobile communication terminal is provided to divide source data to compress the divided source data, and to transmit the compressed source data, thereby reducing time for downloading data when a mobile communication terminal is manufactured or mobile communication terminal software is updated. CONSTITUTION: A host checks whether a user requests a data transmission of a mobile communication terminal(400). If so, the host compresses data to be transmitted in predetermined block unit(402). The host compresses the data as much as a data amount that does not exceed 1kbyte, and transmits the compressed data to the mobile communication terminal(404). If a response to a data downloading is received from the terminal(406), the host restores the compressed data(408). If a signal informing the host that the data is normally downloaded in a memory is received, the host checks whether all data to be transmitted to the terminal are completed(412). If so, the host terminates the procedure.
