전체 높이를 낮춤과 아울러 별도의 스택링이 불필요하도록 구조가 개선된 전체 높이를 낮춤과 아울러 별도의 스택링이 불필요하도록 구조가 개선된 허브 부착 광디스크, 그 제조방법 및 광디스크 기판 제작용 사출금형이 개시되어 있다. 개시된 허브 부착 광디스크는, 중공과, 정보가 기록되지 않는 비정보 기록면 상의 내측에 소정 깊이로 인입 형성된 인입부를 가지는 기판과; 내부에 결합공이 형성되며 중공과 인입부 내부에 결합 설치되는 플레이트와, 결합공 내에 끼워지는 센터 링부재를 구비한 허브;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 또한, 개시된 허브 부착 광디스크는 마그네틱 척을 마련하는 단계와; 마그네틱 척 상에 허브를 장착하는 단계와; 기판의 인입부에 자외선 경화수지를 도포하는 단계와; 인입부 상에 플레이트가 접촉되도록 하는 단계와; 자외선을 조사하여 자외선 경화수지를 경화시키는 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 또한, 개시된 광디스크 기판 제작용 사출금형은, 기판의 재료가 되는 레진을 주입하는 주입구를 가지는 고정판과; 소정의 정보기록 패턴을 가지는 스탬퍼와; 그 중앙부에 돌기부를 가지는 가동판을; 구비한 것을 특징으로 한다.

PURPOSE: An information storage medium having plural data storage units, a data recording and/or data reproducing device and a method thereof are provided to record more user data by comprising plural data storage units, and to use the data storage units having high data reliability, thereby improving reliability on recorded data. CONSTITUTION: An optical data storage unit(13) records user data. A memory chip(15) records data related to a function provided in association with using the optical data storage unit(13). The data to be recorded in the memory chip(15) is related to a selective function provided in relation to using the optical data storage unit(13). The optical data storage unit(13) is either an optical disk, a magnetic tape, or a magnetic disk. The data to be recorded in the memory chip(15) is more than one of data related to optical disk properties, defect management data, and data related to a data recording and/or reproducing device.

PURPOSE: A device for deciding a type of an optical information storage medium, a method therefor and the optical information storage medium are provided to differentiate an incremental direction of physical addresses of optical information storage media, thereby clearly and easily distinguishing the optical information storage media having the same size into two types of media. CONSTITUTION: An optical head reads physical address data recorded in a predetermined section of an optical information storage medium(510). The first CODEC receives the read address data from the optical head to demodulate the data, and outputs address information(530). A controller determines an incremental direction of a physical address of the optical information storage medium according to the address information(550). The controller decides a type of the optical information storage medium(570).

PURPOSE: A disc cartridge and a disc drive using the disc cartridge are provided to perform an operation of loading a disc into the disc drive more stably. CONSTITUTION: A disc cartridge(100) includes a case that houses a disc. When the case is inserted into a holder of a disc drive, the case is guided by both side walls of the holder. The case is composed of plane parts coming into contact with both side walls of the holder and a curved part(103) that connects the plane parts to each other. Each plane part includes the first portion(101) formed at both sides of the case along the first rectilinear direction and the second portion(102) formed at both sides of the case along the second rectilinear direction perpendicular to the first rectilinear direction.

PURPOSE: A disc cartridge is provided to simplify the exchange of discs by carrying out the inserting and ejecting the discs by pushing or pulling via an inlet hole, and prevent the deformation or damage of a case caused by the frequent opening and closing operation. CONSTITUTION: A disc cartridge includes upper and lower cases(110,120) for receiving a disc. The upper and lower cases are primarily coupled with each other by the coupling between a coupling groove(112) and a coupling protrusion(122), and completely by screws(S) via coupling holes(113,123), thereby being integrated. The cartridge(100), of which upper and lower cases are coupled completely, has an inlet hole to a side wall part for inserting or ejecting the disc in a direction parallel to a recording surface of the disc. The inlet hole is formed by coupling upper and side walls(110a,110b) of the upper case with lower and side walls(120a,120b) of the lower case, wherein the side walls have an opening. The disc is inserted or ejected into or from the cartridge by pushing in or pulling out instead of opening or closing the cases.

PURPOSE: A disk cartridge is provided to prevent pollution due to dusts by shielding a path where dusts come into an information area through a gap of an outer peripheral part of a disk. CONSTITUTION: A case(210,220) has an aperture hole(221) for accessing a recording surface of a disk(D1) on one side surface and an open hole(211) formed on the other side. A circular shutter(230) and a rotating shutter(240) are movably installed in the case for opening and closing the aperture hole and support the disk. A disk holder(250) is installed at the open hole of the case for covering a gap between an outer peripheral part of the disk and the shutter. A shutter driving element moves the shutter to open and close the aperture hole. A lifting element lifts the disk holder.

PURPOSE: A disk cartridge is provided to prevent an information area of a disk from being polluted by preventing inflow of dusts, and reduce a noise and damage in moving the disk by fixing the disk between an upper case and a lower case. CONSTITUTION: A lower case(201) has an aperture hole(202). An upper case(203) is installed in the lower case for containing a disk(D) with the lower case. A shutter(210) is installed at the lower case for opening and shutting the aperture hole. A sealing member(240) is installed at the shutter for being closely attached to a non-information area of an inner periphery of the disk when the shutter is opened and being detached from the non-information area of the inner periphery of the disk when the shutter is shut.

CONSTITUTION: A case(201) contains a disk(D). A shutter(210) formed of a first shutter and a second shutter(211,212) is movably installed under the disk in the case for selectively opening and closing an aperture hole(202) formed at the case. A plurality of support members(220) are formed in the case for supporting a clamping area, which is a non-information area of the disk. A plurality of guide holes(215,216) are formed at the shutter and are restrained not to be interfered with the support members when the shutter is opened and closed.

CONSTITUTION: A disc cartridge includes a cover(33) formed with a plurality of guide rails(41) radially formed with respect to the center of a clamping hole(32), and a plurality of rail cars(45) movably mounted to the respectively guide rails. The rail cars regulate the diameter of discs received in a disc receiving space to be located in a proper position.

PURPOSE: A high density disc is provided to regulate clamping and data areas newly simultaneously with reducing the thickness of the disc for securing a high density recording capacity while keeping the recording and/or reproducing characteristics of the disc. CONSTITUTION: A high density disc is formed with an entire diameter(dT) of 80mm or less, and an entire thickness of 0.4-0.7mm, and has a recording starting position in the diameter range(dD) of 33-45mm, from which the data recording is started. The high density disc includes a center hole(10), a clamping area(20) applied with a clamping force, a data area(40) for recording data, a read-in area(30) adjacent to the inside of the data area, and a read-out area(50) adjacent to the outside of the data area. At least a substrate and at least a cover layer, the cover layer being formed with a thickness of 0.2mm or less.
