An information storing medium including application for providing meta data and an apparatus and a method for providing the meta data are provided to offer the meta data stored in a reproducing apparatus from the information storing medium according to a user interface provided from a contents maker and a scenario of the contents maker. A local storage(320) stores meta data for a disc library read from an information storing medium. A navigation manager(340) reads application to generate a user interface in order to provide the meta data stored in the local storage(320) from the information storing medium, and executes the read application. An AV renderer(360) outputs the generated user interface.

본 발명은 폰트 프리로드 광 정보저장매체, 그 재생장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 폰트 프리로드 광 정보저장매체는, 오디오 데이터 또는 비디오 데이터를 포함하는 A/V 데이터; 및 상기 A/V 데이터를 포함하는 소정 인터랙티브 화면을 구성하고, 심리스(seamless) 재생시 여러 개의 인터랙티브 화면에 필요한 폰트를 미리 재생 장치의 메모리로 로드하라는 명령을 포함하는 인터랙티브 데이터를 구비함을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 동시에 재생되는 오디오/비디오 데이터 화면과 인터랙티브 데이터 화면에서 새로운 인터랙티브 화면으로 바뀌기 전에 사용될 폰트를 미리 메모리에 로드하는 방법을 통해 오디오/비디오 데이터 화면의 심리스 재생을 보장할 수 있다.

A system for downloading contents fit to environment of a client device from a contents service server through the network is provided to enable a user to download the proper contents by making the contents service server automatically select/transmit the contents fit to hardware/network environment of the client device. A contents database(13) stores the contents of the first to the 'N'th type prepared by considering the different environment of each client device, and attribute information of each contents type. A controller(11) receives a contents download request and the environment information from the client device, selects one fit to the environment information of the client device among various types of contents by using the attribute information of each contents type, and transmits the contents of the selected contents type to the client device.

PURPOSE: A method for recording a digital stream by using a disk cache, a device therefor and an information storage medium therefor are provided to record an inputted digital stream in a buffer region, and to record a currently inputted digital stream in a user recording region, then to record connection information, thereby efficiently recording the digital stream. CONSTITUTION: A system records an inputted digital stream in a buffer region of an information storage medium. The system records a currently inputted digital stream in a user recording region of the information storage medium according to a recording command. The system records connection information for connecting the digital stream recorded in the buffer region with the digital stream recorded in the user recording region. The system controls a value of a recording start location pointer in order to indicate one of points of the buffer region according to a user input.

PURPOSE: A device for recording and/or editing data securing seamless regeneration between stream objects is provided to regenerate stream objects without discontinuation by using stream object information including seamless information and seamless time control information, and simply realize seamless regeneration without directly rerecording or correcting ATS added to packet data. CONSTITUTION: A regeneration controller(308) regenerates SOB(Stream Object)s and SOBI(Stream Object Information) recorded on a recording medium(306). A counter(304) is driven according to a system clock signal, and is reset by ATS(Arrival Time Stamp) added to a first packet data regenerated by the regeneration controller. A first processor(312) corrects the original ATS of the corresponding SOBs to be continuously regenerated based on the SOBI for providing the corrected ATS or providing a control signal representing a point when the counter is to be reset. In the case of regenerating the SOBs without resetting the counter, a second processor(310) controls output by removing the ATS added to the packet data provided from the regeneration controller based on the corrected ATS. In the case of regenerating the SOBs by resetting the counter, the second processor resets the counter with the ATS of the first packet data of the corresponding SOB and removes the ATS added to the packet data provided from the regeneration controller.

PURPOSE: A thumbnail data recording method is provided to assign a predetermined section of bit streams corresponding to a single program as a thumbnail for record the thumbnail to be played by motion pictures. CONSTITUTION: A thumbnail data recording method includes the steps of recording program including A/V data to an optical disc, recording an ID of the program for defining thumbnail to be played by motion pictures(901), and recording play-starting time data and play-ending time data in the program(902). The play-starting time data and the play-ending time data are recorded as IDs of start frame and last frame of the thumbnail.

PURPOSE: A select method of an audio signal is provided to follow a voice mode selected by a user although a program or audio bit stream is switched. CONSTITUTION: In the method for selecting an audio signal, when switched from a program to another program, whether a sub audio bit stream having a channel identification symbol exists, is checked. The channel identification symbol is assigned to a sub audio bit stream of a program to be reproduced prior to be switched. If a sub audio bit stream having the same channel identification symbols exists, the sub audio bit stream is selected so that a voice mode selected by a user is followed when a program or audio bit stream is switched.

PURPOSE: An interactive optical information recording medium having preload font information, a system and a method for playing the recording medium are provided to accord a font of an interactive picture with the language of a video image being reproduced and to secure seamless reproduction of A/V data. CONSTITUTION: An optical information recording medium includes A/V data having audio data or video data, and interactive data. The interactive data constructs a predetermined interactive image containing the A/V data and includes a command for loading fonts, which are needed for a plurality of interactive images in case of seamless reproduction, into a memory of an optical information recording medium player in advance. The interactive data is a web-based document. Preload information includes IDs of fonts to be preloaded, font-range of the fonts to be preloaded, and attribute information of the fonts.
