Abstract: PURPOSE: An active tandem master cylinder is provided to block off the leakage of oil simultaneously with informing a driver of the oil leakage when a hydraulic system is damaged, thereby preventing the vehicle accidents in advance. CONSTITUTION: An active tandem master cylinder includes first and second flow ratio sensors(30,30') mounted to first and second outlets(11,11') of a cylinder(10) connected to first and second oil channel pipes(14) respectively connected front and rear brakes for sensing the oil flow, first and second opening/closing valves(40,40') mounted to the first and second oil channel pipes for opening and closing the oil flow, and a control part for controlling the first and second opening/closing valves according to signals output from the first and second flow ratio sensors.
