A structure for mounting a side step at a side sill outer panel(20) of a vehicle is composed of a mounting bracket(10) having mounting units(14) formed with a bolting hole(12) installed to the side sill outer panel and bent integrally at both ends and a footstep supporting unit(16) protruded between the mounting units, wherein passengers step on the footstep supporting unit and a side step molding(30) for covering the outer surface of the mounting bracket.
