CONSTITUTION: A micro alga culture medium including high content of starch comprises 80-90 wt% of NaNO3, 2-3 wt% of K2HPO4, 4-8 wt% of Mg Cl2·6H2O, 1-2 wt% of Na2CO3, 1-2 wt% of CaCl2, 1-4 wt% of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, 0.3-0.5 wt% of citric acid and 0.3-0.6 wt% of Na2SiO3·9H2O or ferric citrate. The micro alga culture medium additionally includes 0.01-0.5 wt% of H3BO3, MnCl2·4H2O, ZnSO4·7H2O, Na2MoO4·2H2O, CuSO4·5H2O or Co(NO3)2·6H2O. A method for cultivating the micro alga uses the micro alga culture medium. The cultivating method irradiates light of 770-790 micro mol/(m2S-1) at 33-37 deg. Celsius under the daytime condition. The cultivating method irradiates light of 13 ~ 17 micro mol/(m2S-1) at 13-17 deg. Celsius under the night time condition.
