Abstract: N-oxo-azolyl methyl derivs. of formula (I) are new. R = -CH2R1 or -CHR2R3, R1 = -CA1B1Z1, -SiA3B3Me or cpd. of formula (i); R2 = -X1A4; R3 = Z2-tert.butyl; A1, A3, B1 and B3 = each 1-8C alkyl, phenylethyl or Ph, each gp. opt. mono-, di- or tri-substd. by halogen, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C haloalkyl; A2 and B2 = each H, 1-8C alkyl or Ph; each gp. opt. mono- di- or tri-substd. by halogen, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C haloalkyl; A4 = Ph opt. substd. by halogen; Z1 = H or OH; Z2 = CO or CHOH; X = CH or N; and X1 = O, S or CH2. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are fungicides and plant growth regulators. (I) have a broad spectrum of activity against phyto pathogenic fungi esp. Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes. They are partially systemic and can be used as leaf and soil fungicides. (I) are effective against e.g. Erisiphe gramines in cereals, Verturia inaequatis on apples, Botrytis unerea on strawberries and vines, Pyricularia oryzae on rice etc. (I) also influence practically all stages of plant development.

Abstract: Azolylmethylcycloalkanol deriv. of formula (I), their acid addn. salts, and metal complexes tolerated by plants are new. In (I), Y = =C=CH- or =CHZ-; Z = O, S, SO, SO2, or NR1, R1 = 1-8C alkyl, phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl, heteroaryl, benzyl or 3-8C cycloalkyl each of these gps. being opt. mono- di or tri-substd. by halogen, NO2, PhO, amino, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, or 1-4C haloalkyl) or tetrahydropyranyl; or if Y = =CHZ-, R1 can be H; R2 and R3 = each H or 1-4C alkyl or if Y = =C=CH- R2 and R3 can together form =CHR1; n = 2-5; and X = CH or N. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are fungicides with a broad spectrum of active against phytopathogenic fungi, effective against e.g. trysiphe graninis in cereals, Venturia inaequalis or apple, Botytis cinerea on strawberries and vines and pyriculoria oryzae on rice. Suitable dose are 0.02-3kg (I)/ha. (I) can also be used as plant growth regulators. For leaf and soil treatment, suitable doses are 0.01-10 kg/(I)/ha.
