    Abstract: The moulding compositions contain A) at least 5% by weight of a polymer component comprising from 50 to 100% by weight of polyphenylene ether and from 0 to 50% by weight of a styrene polymer which is different from component C), B) at least 5% by weight of a polyester, C) at least 0.1% by weight of a copolymer built up from C1) at least 20% by weight of alpha -olefins having 2-8 carbon atoms, styrene or substituted styrenes of the formula I in which R and R are alkyl radicals having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, hydrogen atoms and/or halogen atoms, and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3, or mixtures of these monomers, C2) at least 0.5% by weight of a polymerisable monomer containing epoxide groups, and/or C3) at least 0.05% by weight of a polymerisable monomer containing halobenzyl groups and containing the structural unit (II) where X is a halogen atom, R and R are each an alkyl radical having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom, and n is 1, 2 or 3, and/or C4) at least 0.05% by weight of a polymerisable monomer containing oxazoline groups, and C5) from 0 to 65% by weight of acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile and/or further nonionogenic comonomers, and D) from 0 to 40% by weight of an impact-modifying rubber.
