Abstract: A liquid ejecting method for ejecting a liquid comprises using a liquid ejecting head having an ejection outlet portion having an ejection outlet for ejecting the liquid, a liquid flow path in fluid communication with the ejection outlet portion, a bubble generation region for generating a bubble in the liquid, and a movable member disposed to face the bubble generation region and provided with a free end closer to the ejection outlet portion than a fulcrum portion thereof, and displacing the movable member by a pressure based on generation of the bubble from a position of a reference surface to a position of a maximum displacement, thereby ejecting the liquid, wherein a relation of 2&thetas;E - 7 DEG ≤ &thetas;M ≤ 2&thetas;E + 7 DEG is satisfied where, with a reference of the reference surface, &thetas;M is an angle of the movable member at the maximum displacement thereof about the fulcrum portion and &thetas;E is an angle of an axis connecting the fulcrum portion with an intersecting point of a center axis of the ejection outlet with a connecting surface of the ejection outlet portion to the liquid flow path, and wherein &thetas;M is an acute angle.

Abstract: 1. An ink cartridge connectable to an ink jet recording head of an ink jet recording apparatus, comprising: a first chamber (4) containing negative pressure producing material (3) and having an ink outlet (2) connectable to the ink jet head to supply ink from the cartridge to the ink jet head and an air vent (10) for allowing air into the cartridge; and a second chamber (6) having a communication port (8) and inner surfaces, said communication port (8) being disposed at a lower part of said cartridge when the cartridge is in use and said inner surfaces intersecting at an intersection portion, said second chamber (6) communicating with the first chamber (4) by means of said communication port (8) and providing an ink reservoir for said first chamber, wherein said intersection portion is rounded. See p.8, l's 16-24: lessens capilary force in second chamber (6) compared to the sharp corners in the first chamber (4). 2. A cartridge according to claim 1, wherein said intersection portion extends substantially vertically while the cartridge is in use. 3. A cartridge according to claim 1, further comprising a rib extending in a direction crossing with an ink supply direction from said second chamber to said first chamber, said rib being disposed at a bottom to said second chamber while said cartridge in use.

Abstract: This specification discloses a liquid discharging method of discharging liquid from a discharge port for discharging the liquid by a liquid discharging element in a first liquid flow path communicating with the discharge port for supplying the liquid to the discharge port, characterized by the use of a variable member for causing negative pressure to act on the first liquid flow path. The specification also discloses a liquid discharging head having a discharge port for discharging liquid therethrough, a first bubble creating area for creating a first bubble in the liquid, and a first liquid flow path provided with the first bubble creating area and communicating with the discharge port, the liquid in the first liquid flow path being discharged through the discharge port by the creation of the first bubble, characterized by a second bubble creating area for creating a second bubble in the liquid, a second liquid flow path provided with the second bubble creating area, and negative pressure acting means using a variable member provided between the first liquid flow path and the second liquid flow path for causing only negative pressure to act in the first liquid flow path by the disappearance of the second bubble. The specification also discloses a head cartridge and a liquid discharging apparatus using such liquid discharging head.
